I would love to see Sam then, because I think he's half right. But I'd like to think Sam would see the at home injustices too. (And, perhaps, I want to see the uniform of Sam going off to war, and him saying a tearful goodbye to Jess). I wish the interviewer had brought up the John Woo war movie he was rumoured to be in. But it was an SPN interview.

Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
There are more than a few WWII AUs out there in ficland, but I've never read any.
I think Sam would have railed against the internment camps and all kinds of things, being Sam, yeah.
ita's position on attitudes toward the Winchesters and the show in general is, unsurprisingly, mine as well. I tend to agree with Dean more in the bulk of their conflicts, but said conflicts make for interesting interaction between the brothers rather than making me wish Sam would go away. And the episodes where they're separated almost always fall short of the working together ones IMHO.

I've read a couple D/C ones. They weren't anything special, to me. But I don't like war stories much. I do really like left behind during war stories.
I'm assuming someone's done the Winchester boys during 'Nam, where John is obviously about serving, Dean is the good little soldier more literally this time, and Sam is a peace protester.
What I'd say to Jared: Remember that time of conflict where everyone (everyone!) worked together, and no conclusions were jumped to, and no one punished for anything they didn't do? No, me neither.

My O too. They're big boys, they don't have to be in each other's pocket 24/7, but they have the most chemistry of anyone on the cast, pretty much, and the story always being about them is just fine with me. I mean, I get why they do it, but I don't enjoy it as much as the rest.
I think I've seen AUs where the boys go Vietnam, but I could be wrong. You know me and AUs -- I'm not usually interested, and a war setting is way down the list. Although I do, like you, love a good homefront story.

This. Especially when you think back to the pilot and the push-pull, which is still going on, just on different, deeper levels now.
Aargh! Now I really badly want the conscientious objector Sam story. Motherfucker. Can someone start by shopping him into this? And then we can take it gradually from there...
Basically, Jesus, if I were still drawing, that would vault past the D/C picture in my head to first place. As is, the list isn't going anywhere...
Oh, good god. Dean/Castiel made it to the next round. They even got their picture in the header.
Young!Sam (pre-Stanford Sam, I mean) really would have been in that headspace in that era, I think. He was so ready to rage against everything Sir stood for and wanted for and from them.
Don't give me bunnies. I have Things To Do.

By which you mean porn?
NO.
I wish, though.
