Wesley: Feng Shui. Gunn: Right. What's that mean again? Wesley: That people will believe anything. Actually, in this place, Feng Shui will probably have enormous significance. I'll align my furniture the wrong way and suddenly catch fire or turn into a pudding.

Because books.

Bev, that link gets a 404.

I haven't read that, ita, but I think an alternate season AU would confuse me while the season was still in progress.

I think the only time I wanted to do that was after S5 Buffy. Or maybe even after S6.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Fixed. Sorry--that pic site is tricksy.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Oh, he's so baby-faced! Pretty!

I am quite enjoying the almost-but-not-quite-a-Big-Bang story that has Jess as a hunter (well, I wish it didn't track so closely with season 1 cases, just because that's a boring retread for me). I couldn't quite tell from the AN whether we're getting a rough draft, or if the fic isn't actually finished.

I really have had it with the HS and college AU. I really don't want the deets on your lunchtime banter or how boring your trig teacher is. I'm skimming Waves just to see much more awful Dean gets (and Cas). And I'ma take a peak at Worn Out Spaces, cuz I kinda like wolfrider89, even if I'm kinda mad that their zombie!AU was never finished.

Ones like where it's John on a hunt using his kids to go Veronica Mars on a Shtriga was an interesting bent, and I think I liked the shift from canon of the Amy story at the end. Maybe. My dislike of Amy (see my issues with Jewel Staite!) and then having to hear about her in the THENS! Every. Single. Episode. did the character no favours in my eyes.

ita, I think I peaked at Redemption ages ago, am intrigued by the idea of having big meaty ongoing stories to read, but lost my bookmark and then outa sight and all that. I don't know how closely it tries to cleave to canon, but I think I'd rather have a completely different "season" instead of a giant fix-it. I'll definitely try to dive into it one of these days, lord knows I've given other stuff a try that turned out to be dreck.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Seriously, how many chapters of pure torment does she have lined up? Finish!

I don't know how closely it tries to cleave to canon

It's not cleaving to canon pretty much, because once you keep a contrite Cas around, I think it would be more work to redo their cases that we've seen without Cas either being unhelpful or fixing things immediately (I'm not paying enough attention to know how powered up he is--they just say half). So right now they're somewhere rainy, and Cas is pretty lame and OOC.

Good job, guys! Thanks for fixing that for us!

Did nanoochka ever finish her WIP? Or the Rebel Rebel one been updated recently? I took a month or three off fic, so I might have missed either epic event.

But I still can't keep away from the theory of HS/Uni AUs. I just need writers with distance, who aren't really combining their dislike of Lisa with what the prom queen said to them last week.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

No go on nan or Rebel Rebel. And the writer of that asexy fic has done fuck all. I can live without nanoochka's fic ever finishing, but I still haunt farofixer's nee Rosaline Kells' AO3 page in the hopes of anything new, Rebel Rebel or otherwise.

Lame Cas? Think I'll steer clear, then.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm just mad at nanoochka for reasons which make no sense at all. I think she got ambitious, and is failing at it, whereas Ros is just being slow for whatever reason. I have no idea why I hold it against one, and not the other.

Wait...there was a Regency fic with a deliciously slow gay panic on Dean's end...were you reading that? Has anything happened there recently?

And, yeah, Cas is pretty much staring out the window needing to be brought back to reality by Dean. I don't know how that counts as a fix, and if Misha ever comes back, I hope they're sorely disappointed.

Because I'm apparently mean.

Oooo, may I see the link?

Because books.

I can't imagine Dean in knee breeches without giggling. God, OR Sam.

Here you go, Matt: [link]

I'll have to go and refresh my memory and see how far in I got.
