Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm skimming Waves just to see much more awful Dean gets (and Cas)

Seriously, how many chapters of pure torment does she have lined up? Finish!

I don't know how closely it tries to cleave to canon

It's not cleaving to canon pretty much, because once you keep a contrite Cas around, I think it would be more work to redo their cases that we've seen without Cas either being unhelpful or fixing things immediately (I'm not paying enough attention to know how powered up he is--they just say half). So right now they're somewhere rainy, and Cas is pretty lame and OOC.

Good job, guys! Thanks for fixing that for us!

Did nanoochka ever finish her WIP? Or the Rebel Rebel one been updated recently? I took a month or three off fic, so I might have missed either epic event.

But I still can't keep away from the theory of HS/Uni AUs. I just need writers with distance, who aren't really combining their dislike of Lisa with what the prom queen said to them last week.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

No go on nan or Rebel Rebel. And the writer of that asexy fic has done fuck all. I can live without nanoochka's fic ever finishing, but I still haunt farofixer's nee Rosaline Kells' AO3 page in the hopes of anything new, Rebel Rebel or otherwise.

Lame Cas? Think I'll steer clear, then.

I'm just mad at nanoochka for reasons which make no sense at all. I think she got ambitious, and is failing at it, whereas Ros is just being slow for whatever reason. I have no idea why I hold it against one, and not the other.

Wait...there was a Regency fic with a deliciously slow gay panic on Dean's end...were you reading that? Has anything happened there recently?

And, yeah, Cas is pretty much staring out the window needing to be brought back to reality by Dean. I don't know how that counts as a fix, and if Misha ever comes back, I hope they're sorely disappointed.

Because I'm apparently mean.

Oooo, may I see the link?

Because books.

I can't imagine Dean in knee breeches without giggling. God, OR Sam.

Here you go, Matt: [link]

I'll have to go and refresh my memory and see how far in I got.

Much obliged!

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

So I'm reading the regency fic (with a healthy dose of skimming here and there) and a character is referenced, in all seriousness, as I.P. Freeley.

Seriously? Seriously?!

If this were crack fic, I'd think the reference cheap and low, and maybe offer a chuckle despite myself. In this, however, I simply see the author growing weary of their own fic and failing to care.

And apparently he works/lives on the same street as the muffin man.

I thought it was a funny offhand to Balthazar. Why is it cheap and low? I don't get it. It wasn't the most hysterical thing, but a light tip to canon.

If anyone who's into D/C has been reading the swim team/lacrosse AU, it finishes here. If you haven't, I recommend the porn. The last chapter is more emotional, but it's still pretty hot too.

However, it's making me miss the water polo one, which was smoking hot. I don't think I added that to my bookmarks. I really should.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

It's just such a childish, easy, silly wordplay, it's bathroom humour, and keeps pulling me out of the story every time the character is mentioned. How is it a reference to Balthazar? I'm not getting that at all, but maybe I need to read further.
