[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

What I can read and what I could watch on SHOW are different things for me.

This. Very much this. There are things I love to see explored in fic that I would not ever want to see on the show. For example, Gabriel returning is something I'd prefer to see in fic vs. canon (barring flashbacks).

One thing I would love to see more of (in both fic and show) is some riffing on the idea that aside from Sam, Castiel is probably the only close friend Dean has ever had. Is there such a thing as gen-shipping?

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Amy, in general, I find very few people share my particular subset of interests, in whichever fandom. With the possible exception of Who and Sherlock--but people are people, and the instinct seems toward couplehood. Or possibly thriplehood. In any event, sex. Which, you know, I'm not opposed to, it's just recently become increasingly evident to me that it's not the sex in any relationship that's most important to me, it's the relationship between the characters. And that, you have to admit, is not the norm. It certainly seems nowhere near even a registerable percentage of any popular fandom. Finding fic or discussion, or fostering and maintaining discussion when the majority are interested in sex, is difficult. And usually more effort than I like to expend because I'm lazy. My comment was meant as an observation on my own proclivities, and not a complaint. I apologize if it sounded complainy.

Also, I think most people like fic and tv and discussion of both as diversion and fun. And I am a ponderous and sober beast and think too hard, laugh too little, am too earnest and have not enough humor. I am not fun.

Dudes, I'm way introspective and it's spilling all over the thread so I'ma shut up now. Howza 'bout them leviathans, huh?

Because books.

Is there such a thing as gen-shipping?

There should be for this show. I support it!

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

They were just starting to be bros! (Bros, not brothers.) Come back, Cas!

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I say, talk about what you want to about Show and Show-related topics, and if there's interest, then there's discussion. And it's all part of the regularly scheduled channel.

I am certainly one who has gotten to being tired of fics that climax on a climax (especially since that means that the story is all about the contrived misunderstandings keeping the destined lovers apart, and not a story with plot in which a romance happens to be taking place). And I hope to get back to my Sherlockian asexual fic once Show is on hiatus (DCBB is over and I'm mostly caught up).

Bev, I think what pinged me about your comment was the implied framing of "this comment doesn't belong in the regular discussions here, sorry to bother". Don't be sorry.

And I prefer my fic to be far away from Show. 1) I don't want to relive the pain of the demons and the deals, and 2) I need to be able to separate canon and fanon easily, and sticking to close to canon, or reinventing it while sticking closely to it, messes with my head.

Trust my rage

Since I developed my SPN obsession, this is always the thread I read first. I even enjoy posts about fics I know I won't ever read because I love the characters.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, god, for a moment there I thought it was Friday. Fuck. That's a downer.

Yeah, that happened to me today in Boxed Set about Fringe Sucks, doesn't it?

Dammit. I'd blame you, but then I already read you realising you were wrong, so I'm extra dumb. Sheeit.
