Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Ahahaha! I love SPN grindhouse promos!
I am heartened that Dean's issues are really being addressed. Leery, but hopeful.
I feel so bad for agreeing with whomever upthread hoping Dean "gets" to break.
So, I liked.
I liked the brother stuff. I liked the shot choices being subtle: pictures being only half-shown, the liquor store sign zoomed in too close. I liked the MotW, and how they lived in the end, and were their salvation. I liked that their issues weren't used to talk through Dean's issues specifically, but I liked that it was the talking through was the keeper.
I take it back about the dreams being guilt-driven. I think it was a little of that, but mostly it was the shit on Dean's plate.
My only complaint was that the secretary was a shite actress, unless she was directed to be over-the-top cliche. (And omg those cupcakes were horrifying).
I liked I liked I liked.
Marsters looked...odd. something about his chin.
i'm pretty meh about tonight's ep. the scene Jared tweeted was more entertaining than anything in the actual ep.
I liked it for the most part, though I'm a bit disturbed that the witch characters are just being let off scott free after killing a bunch of people for petty reasons. I'd like to have seen at least some indication that Dean and Sam didn't consider the case solved at the end.
Also, unkillable billion-year-old primordial monster nerfed in record time!
Yeah, I'm Matt in the disturbed part. Inconsistent, given that Dean went back to kill Amy. Meh. I mean, I'd lay odds that the Starks will kill again just for grins, whereas Amy might have been able to avoid it and certainly would have tried. Maybe they were going to try again, but then changed their minds because Don saved their asses. Doesn't really work for me, but I'll deal.
I actually liked the bit with the assistant on the couch -- that sounds bad! -- I thought her little "hearts in my cupcakes" bit was funny. Though, I found the beating hearts in the cupcakes gross and confusing. At first, I thought she took a bite and her tongue came out in the cupcake or something. It was very odd. And, while gross, why did the teeny heart in the cupcake almost kill her? It doesn't matter, does it? Nope.
Marsters, still a hottie, but, yes, it kind of looked like he had a weird ping pong ball on his chin or something. CC looks awesome and like she's aging naturally, which while a purely personal decision, I'm still glad to see, because... I don't know why. Just because. The expression he gave as he was driving away after decapitating Maggie's friend - pure Spike. Love!
"Again... biking." Har! The Bewitched references. Lots of fun stuff.
unkillable billion-year-old primordial monster nerfed in record time!
Yeah, but it won't take. Much like Osiris, they're working above their pay grade, or right at it, no adversaries are dying.
I thought the bottomless pit sounded like good advice. Surely they know or can find out the location of one? Heck, seems like they have the solution to Leviathan(s). Get some powerful enough magic user as ally to render them unconscious, then drop them into a bottomless pit.
Clones?
I read spec that the Leviathans actually take on the Winchesters forms in order to manipulate the police/feds to do the legwork for them in finding them.
I wonder if the Leviathans are doing anything else other than eating and looking for the boys. Do they have a nefarious plan? Are they going to eat the whole petrie dish, or are they content to feed discreetly?
Marsters looked...odd. something about his chin.
Yeah, that was distracting. I did like how subdued he was. No Spike at all, except for that one smirk.
I don't know how Dean and Sam were going to kill either of the Starks after the chicken feet thing didn't work. I think if they had another way, and the chance to use it, they probably would have gone for it.
The "talk it out" theme was a little anvilicious, but all is forgiven for the chance to see Cordelia and Spike CC and JM working together, and with the Winchesters. There wasn't a lot of there there, except for the side note that the Leviathan is still on their tail. Lots of fun moments, though.
Watching the actual scene as opposed to the goof was a nice little bonus, too, especially when you see how much Jensen ad libbed, and changed the (third? fourth?) "Lance Armstrong" to "Mary Lou Retton".
