Although, traditionally pellets (which are in shot) were lead.
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Here is some iron shot.
They're phasing out the use of lead in buckshot for hunting, because of its long-term persistence in the environment, so steel and various alloys that include iron are widely available.
My wild-ass guess is that cold iron originally was seen as antithetical to the supernatural because it represents a creation of man rather than nature. One could propose a modern fae that could be killed with plastic or disco.
"Death by Disco!"--Sam, The Lost Boys.
Oh come on, I can't have been the only one thinking it.
You can also be invisible to the Fae by turning your clothes inside out: socks, stocking, underwear, shirts, tops, jackets, blouses whatever. I wonder if someone could do really hilarious crack fic with that.
Looks like Divine will be going live Sunday at 7pm. Hope it doesn't suck. Hope I still have power then.
I got inadvertantly spoiled for an arc point (that's rather large, from my POV) by a report on the J2 breakfast. If you're reading to catch up on VanCon, tread carefully.
Also, Divine's been getting a lot of buzz on one of my SPN comms--what is it, other than a new series? And why is it linked to SPN?
Misha plays the priest in it. It's an internet-based show funded by viewers, cutting out the need for commercials.
Coping with his loss of faith, a young priest has his world turned upside-down when he witnesses the resurrection of an immortal being named Divine. Given sanctuary by the church, Divine leads a never-ending crusade to show lost souls they have the power to choose their destiny between good and evil. With guidance from the priest’s mentor and Divine’s street-smart sidekick, the Father must now confront his own demons and the dark forces that challenge Divine.

Am I the only one for whom the titular character's name and basic setup seems worryingly reminiscent of 1990s Image Comics?
Ah, so that's the connection. Thanks, Julie!
