They're phasing out the use of lead in buckshot for hunting, because of its long-term persistence in the environment, so steel and various alloys that include iron are widely available.
My wild-ass guess is that cold iron originally was seen as antithetical to the supernatural because it represents a creation of man rather than nature. One could propose a modern fae that could be killed with plastic or disco.
"Death by Disco!"--Sam, The Lost Boys.
Oh come on, I can't have been the only one thinking it.
You can also be invisible to the Fae by turning your clothes inside out: socks, stocking, underwear, shirts, tops, jackets, blouses whatever. I wonder if someone could do really hilarious crack fic with that.
Looks like Divine will be going live Sunday at 7pm. Hope it doesn't suck. Hope I still have power then.
I got inadvertantly spoiled for an arc point (that's rather large, from my POV) by a report on the J2 breakfast. If you're reading to catch up on VanCon, tread carefully.
Also, Divine's been getting a lot of buzz on one of my SPN comms--what is it, other than a new series? And why is it linked to SPN?
Misha plays the priest in it. It's an internet-based show funded by viewers, cutting out the need for commercials.

Coping with his loss of faith, a young priest has his world turned upside-down when he witnesses the resurrection of an immortal being named Divine. Given sanctuary by the church, Divine leads a never-ending crusade to show lost souls they have the power to choose their destiny between good and evil. Am I the only one for whom the titular character's name and basic setup seems worryingly reminiscent of 1990s Image Comics?
Ah, so that's the connection. Thanks, Julie!
The story behind the ducks.
There are also hysterical .gifs of Jensen stabbing a huge blow-up duck floating around. Heh. Pun unintentional.
Now the request for ducks makes a bit more sense. And its funny. I would love to see all the ducks hanging around the sets.
