I've really got to learn to just do the damage and get out of town. It's the 'stay and gloat' that gets me every time.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Great vid, tiggy!

D/C: I finished Among the Wreck, and for all that it was an enormous beast, wished that it wasn't over. Really, really, like, really good. Interesting twisting and remixing of past seasons, mixing and matching and flipping things around and presenting them in new circumstances. Oddly, I liked the more fluffy and domestic first Act than the shit-hits-the-fan plot-heaviness of Act 2 (where the whump is! *gasp).

Nan has ginormous D/C fic (with dag art), and I was leery to start it. I'm still leery because it's in first person.

Because books.

My criticism about Sam's fragility (and Dean being a mechanic, again) aside, if anyone wants a beautiful, really creepy case file with Sam and Dean figuring out what they mean to each other, gretaretza's The Piper is gorgeous and well worth the read. (It is wincest, not just SamandDean, to be clear.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I spent all morning reading nan's story, and I think it was well done, except the tenses confused me a bit. Still, satisfied. I think I'll save the Wreck one for tonight.

eta: I just now read the warnings on nanoochka's story, and I have no idea where she thinks there was dub con. Man, consent is weird.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

First person pov bugs, but is it usual for it to be used for more than one character? Because it's hella confusing to be used by three different characters, especially without actually varying the narrative voice (like in The Killer Angels, but that wasn't first person) and not identifying who's scene it is off the bat for every shift. I'm having a hard working through nan's story, whereas the other I couldn't believe there was no more fic, it seemed to fly even though it took me three days to read.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I found it pretty easy off the bat to tell who was who, so it didn't detract from the story for me in the least. I think everyone's love and anger needed to be vindicated here, and 1st person the best way at it. But she Sam, I think, talk in present tense about times Cas referred to in the past, and that kinda confused me.

There's another D/C up on the list. I'll queue the both of them up for my hospital visit. I read while they're trying to get an IV line in. They ask what I'm doing I don't tell them "porn", just "random internet". Luckily you can't tell when my pupils dilate.

Reaching out to betas for reversebang. I have 6 possible poses for one of the pics. Which is insane, because that's supposed to be the easy one.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Aside from supernaturalfic over on LJ, are there some other comms that would be likely to accept a gen-ish John/Mary fic? Is there anything on DW I should check out?

Amy - Aug 13, 2011 4:35:37 pm PDT #20944 of 30002
Because books.

Did you post on AO3, Anne? I'm constantly surprised by the comments I get over there on stories I never even posted to LJ.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I did post there, as the story is large enough I wanted people to have the ePub option*, but I'm getting little (visible) traffic over there so far.

* Which I LOVE, and which allowed Consuela's fabulous post-LWW Narnia novel to make up a copious chunk of my vacation reading.

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

I just came across a BB where the pairing is "Dean/Samstiel" - anyone know what that means? There is an entry in the warning that makes me wary of reading it just to satisfy my curiosity. (And why does the word "curious" lose a "u" when it becomes a noun? So many unanswered questions!)

Because books.

Maybe Castiel using Sam as a vessel?
