Because books.

I like naked Dean/clothed Cas, although I really don't object to the other way around either. Like, ever.

Question: What's everyone's favorite Big Bang so far? Rec me! But give me the pairing and an AU heads-up, too.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

If you're into J2, Amy, avoid the Ladyhawke fusion like the plague. I've never read so many "dudes!" in my life. I mostly skimmed, because I couldn't help myself, and while I appreciated Isabeau's role not being quite so damsel-in-distress, it was truly awful. Even if Misha as Philippe was amusing.

Nothing has struck me so far as anything memorable.

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

I haven't found anything in this years BB worth saving either - which is a shame since I usually have at least a couple that I save to read again. I'm not sure whether it is me or them but even authors whose work I normally like just aren't grabbing me. The only one I would suggest is Scavenger Hunt which I think is a well-written nice little J2 in college diversion - but I'm pretty sure I will have forgotten it by Friday.

Not enough for me to mem these, but going back through the list:

JRobot: J2. Not what I was expecting. Fun action, surprisingly sweet.

Rumsey Hall: Wincest. Excellent casefic, engaging and exciting journey through the house. Slow-build.

A Strong Confederacy: J2/Misha. Not obstinatrix's best work, but I love the way she writes, even if this did lack a little, but I can't put my finger on it. Didn't hate it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I liked the How To Train A Dragon D/C adaptation. Worked for me. It's the only D/C I've read so far. I haven't really been paying much attention to anything but the art. And there's been too much photomanipping for my tastes, but some great stuff. I'll do a summary of what I like when the challenge is over.

Because books.

I saw Rumsey Hall -- I think I might have bookmarked it to read later. Looked decent.

I usually love obstinatrix, but J2/Misha? Eh.

Filming starts today, with Jensen directing, or so SuperWiki says. Whee!

General show promo that aired during one of the repeats.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

huh.

Can't wait for a less sparkly title card (yeah, never warmed up to that one, no matter how thinky you get about it).

You know, sometimes I wish that Supernatural would take a page out of the Charlie/Dani dynamic from Life, and have Dean have an epiphany that self-sacrifice for his brother isn't the answer. That it's not simply a matter of trading his life/soul for the one he loves most. To realize that reversing roles isn't being heroic, or even loving. To realize that removing himself from Sam's life is even more hurtful to Sam than just letting him stay dead (and in Heaven). And that ties into Dean's self-image, and sense of self worth. I don't think Show has a way to ever showcase that without being repetitive, but my greatest wish is for Show to eventually break that Western mold of what a hero does for those he loves. I think the only other time I saw that (in my limited viewing experience) was Babylon 5, with Shepherd and Kosh and Z'ha'dum. Do you love someone enough to live for them? (in that sense, Dean being selfish/selfless with Lisa is consistent; he thinks he's doing the right thing for those he loves, but really he's only making it easier for himself. Instead of having to live with the grief of Sam's death, he makes Sam live with his death, plus the knowledge that he's suffering in Hell for eternity. Not cool, dude. See, Dean needs to hang out with Detective Crews some more, eat fruit, save the girl and then save himself for the girl.

I might love Life/Supernatural crossovers a little bit (dream!guest stars next season!!!)

but, then again, this is a show that has an angel putting the health and safety of a mortal body over an immortal soul, so, yeah, never gonna happen.

Banana chocolate milkshake: aw man, I wish I wasn't poor. Jared and Misha are going to be 20 minutes from me this weekend.

I don't want that all to happen for Dean, at least not before the last minute, because I like that brokenness about him. It's a compelling flaw, the lengths he'll go to in order to undervalue himself for just about anyone, but most especially primarily Sam. I adore that about him.

And it's hot.
