I am the fly who dreams of the spider

huh.

Can't wait for a less sparkly title card (yeah, never warmed up to that one, no matter how thinky you get about it).

You know, sometimes I wish that Supernatural would take a page out of the Charlie/Dani dynamic from Life, and have Dean have an epiphany that self-sacrifice for his brother isn't the answer. That it's not simply a matter of trading his life/soul for the one he loves most. To realize that reversing roles isn't being heroic, or even loving. To realize that removing himself from Sam's life is even more hurtful to Sam than just letting him stay dead (and in Heaven). And that ties into Dean's self-image, and sense of self worth. I don't think Show has a way to ever showcase that without being repetitive, but my greatest wish is for Show to eventually break that Western mold of what a hero does for those he loves. I think the only other time I saw that (in my limited viewing experience) was Babylon 5, with Shepherd and Kosh and Z'ha'dum. Do you love someone enough to live for them? (in that sense, Dean being selfish/selfless with Lisa is consistent; he thinks he's doing the right thing for those he loves, but really he's only making it easier for himself. Instead of having to live with the grief of Sam's death, he makes Sam live with his death, plus the knowledge that he's suffering in Hell for eternity. Not cool, dude. See, Dean needs to hang out with Detective Crews some more, eat fruit, save the girl and then save himself for the girl.

I might love Life/Supernatural crossovers a little bit (dream!guest stars next season!!!)

but, then again, this is a show that has an angel putting the health and safety of a mortal body over an immortal soul, so, yeah, never gonna happen.

Banana chocolate milkshake: aw man, I wish I wasn't poor. Jared and Misha are going to be 20 minutes from me this weekend.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't want that all to happen for Dean, at least not before the last minute, because I like that brokenness about him. It's a compelling flaw, the lengths he'll go to in order to undervalue himself for just about anyone, but most especially primarily Sam. I adore that about him.

And it's hot.

Kneel before Glod. ~Stephen Colbert

Yanno, I saw that yesterday and I'm still laughing. Misha would fit in quite nicely with our lunch group at work.

So, I'm fooling around at [link] to get my mobster nickname. I'm The Blossom, apparently.

I put in Dean and Sam's names: The Mangler and The Pipsqueak respectively.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

It was obviously my own fault, I should have hit the back button as soon as I came across lines like

Dean cooed in a low gravely tone.
and
He batted his baby blues at her

(That was Dean that was supposed to have the baby blues, by the way.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's obviously not D/C fic. They're so hyper-aware of eye colour, it freaks me out. Also, please, I thought I was tired of "jade" but "viridian" takes me out of the story every time, just like "cerulean" does.

My god, the taste test goes on apace. I've set the tumblr to update once per day, and I have fifteen days queued up. Most of that is D/C naturally, because that's what I consume, but the need to describe his taste is nigh pathological. I mean, Dean's in this too, and much of it is AU no no special angel-tastiness, but it's Castiel that gets described most of the time.

Do Wincest writers care about flavour?
