The Colt is an AWESOME gun. I love the weird symmetry of them having Colt's gun but not being *those* Winchesters, too.

Oh, yeah.
I just rewatched the episode, and the boys' glee over finding Colt's journal gives me a happy. They're dorking out about hunting. I like that. Of course, Dean continues to dork out all episode, but this was something straight up related to how they were raised, and they were both amped at the idea of authentic Samuel Colt stuff. If they can fanboy their job, I don't feel as bad they're doing it.
It's less like they're stuck.
