A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

From looking at the attendee list, looks like Katherine Boecher (Lilith). And, yes, Steven Williams seems to wear cowboy boots with chrome bling. Excuse me while I fan myself.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Can you fan me while you are at it.

mmmmm

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Don't I remember someone on here making plans to go to some sort of gathering where she'd get to actually breathe in air that had touched one of the Impalas?

This was me. I wasn't offended or avoiding the topic, I just have been away from convenient posting. The con was in Vancouver for the first time. The extras were going to be set tours and location shot tours. Plus they would have one of the impalas on hand to fondle see. I bought a gold ticket, a photo op with Jared and Jensen, a photo op with ond of the Impalas, and of course the site tours. Plus our lovely Beverly offered me room even though she had just moved. So it was the perfect weekend. (Mostly because of Beverly).

But as I was reading the forums, the craxy was getting more and more. This was pre-marriage of either boys and may have even been still in the Sandy era. Either way, a fan jumped on Jensen at another convention, and that was kind of the deciding factor. I just was too uncomfortable when I actually thought about it. So I sold all my tickets on eBay and while I didn't make a profit, I didn't take a loss. No harm no foul. This was also the convention where they started those ultra priced things for extremely small groups.

I think 7 people could have breakfast with Jared for what was it 1500 or 2k? I remember saying at the time that this would be my nightmare. I don't like banquet dinners where I have to make conversation with people that I don't know let alone pay to have to go through it. Some people here agreed that they could think of things to say but none of us wanted to pay that much to do it.

This bothered me last night, and still is this morning, so I gotta say

The topic also came and went about TWOP recaps. Because it was a little bit of a negative tone with regard to TWOP, I did want to speak up and say that I have read Cindy's recaps and I adore her. I'm pretty sure that I would adore her recaps even if I didn't adore her for herself. When she subbed for the Supernatural recapping she even gave us a shout-out. So yay Cindy.

I thought Strega's recaps of Angel were very witty. I couldn't read them on a regular basis because I couldn't read criticism of the show even when it was warranted. That's how I am with SPN right now, so I know better than to read the regular recaps. I remember years ago reading the Smallville recaps and really enjoying them. eta: I absolutely agree that the forums are a mess though. I've never been comfortable posting there even though I have met some posters in real life (due to a Serenity screening) who couldn't have been any nicer and encouraging to come over there and post.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

And so I don't completely stop conversation---

SHOW in just a few hours!!!

Are they going to make us go to May to hear about renewal?

Because books.

Cindy is an exception to every TWoP rule for me, Theresa. Because we love her.

I can't imagine spending that kind of money to go to a con, but I can certainly understand why people do. And I can't really begrudge any of them the take home, especially Jared and Jensen. They carry the whole show, more or less, and the fact that they're willing to give up weekends to meet fans is pretty generous. No reason they shouldn't get paid for it, especially in an industry where you don't know when you'll get your next job.

I'd actually love to see the Impalas, and the sets, and talk to the writers. Meeting Jared, Jensen, Jim, or Misha, or any of them would be fantastic, but the con atmosphere would be a little mottsy for me.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think if I knew more people and a con was an opportunity to reach out the them and geek in person I might look at the money with less wide eyes. Because you're paying for a lot of things right there. But I'm not really interested in getting autographs, and the group nature of it leaves me cold in theory.

I've only been to one con, and it wasn't for a show I was particularly fannish about, although I was a fan. I went to see Dana and shrift, and it was fun, but much more official interaction and my head would have exploded. Also, some of the extreme people I don't need to see in person.

I wonder how Buffy fandom got away with having the PBP and Allyson's parties? That was freaking perfect, man. It was like a social event that actors and writers, etc came to. That was fun, even if I was always working. Actually, because I was always working. What's not more fun with headsets and threats of violence?

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I never begrudge actors (and performers in general) high fees or high salaries if they can get it. Nobody in that business knows when their career will end. If they work forever great! If not, they can comfort themselves with luxuries financed by their investments while they go on to the next thing. I hope that does not happen to the double Js or any of the Supernatural crew, but I certainly won't blame them for being prepared.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Yes. If anyone from here had been going, I would have gone through with it. But I couldn't face "the others" by myself. I don't think any of the other Con locations offer the extras that Vancouver was able to offer so I'm really not tempted. I would only go now if someone else was going and we were going to go through it together.

Besides, I figure I can go to Vancouver and see the location sites myself. Someday. And then I'll be able to compare them to X-files, Dark Angel, SG-1 and all the other Vancouver shows.

Because books.

I'd be satisfied doing a f2f with people here to watch and talk.

My other fantasy is getting stuck with Sera in an elevator somewhere, because she's always seemed as much fangirl as writer/showrunner. An elevator with a minibar preferably.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

An elevator with a minibar

If I build a custom house with secret passages, I definitely want one of these too.
