Kaylee: So how many fell madly in love with you and wanted to take you away from all this? Inara: Just the one. I think I'm slipping.

Because books.

No new episode Friday! We have to wait till Feb. 4!

I feel like if I say it a few more times, it'll make it suck less, but so far NO SUCH LUCK.

Because books.

The reason for the delay, according to a guy at EW.com.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

The network wanted a chance to re-peat tonight’s return of Vampire Diaries and Nikita on Friday to give their midseason debuts some additional sampling. Diaries, in particular, is going up against Idol. Plus, there’s some local market pre-emptions that are going to mess with the scheduling of tonight’s shows in certain cities (Chicago and Baltimore, if you must know).

And the scheduling people didn't know any of that until a day before the new ep was supposed to air?!?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Oh, that's something of a relief, Amy. Still, way to mess with what would have been one of the highlights of my birthday weekend!

Because books.

Some scheduling may have been juggled due to the State of the Union?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And the scheduling people didn't know any of that until a day before the new ep was supposed to air?!?

Apparently no. Idol wasn't scheduled until the last minute.

However, NO FAIR dicking over two longtime fandoms for two newbie shows. Seriously.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

So... since there was no time to advertise the pre-emption, they're just crossing their fingers that the audiences of Smallville and Supernatural will keep watching the replacement shows and call friends who normally watch the latter to notify them of the change?

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Crap! I'll be working next Friday night. Maybe I can get away with tuning one of the TVs to CW.
