No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Do the ficreaders in this thread read the fanfic thread?

I do, and would.

I also have a knee jerk reaction against people being told (even very nicely, as they were here) that they are talking about something too much and they should go talk about it somewhere else though.

t /my issues, let me show you them!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Possible compromise: post links to recommended fics with appropriate warnings here, but with a note to discuss it in the fic thread, a la Press and Lightbulbs?

That's kind of what I was thinking.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I also thought I was whitefonting most of the salient fic points, so if I left out stuff that bothers you, Anne, I apologise. I only try and leave premise stuff (and emotional reactions, natch) in blackfont.

Not a problem, ita. It's just this has been on my mind and nagging at me, and I thought it was better to float the idea out there and see what people thought rather than stew on it.

Flatly, if we took this volume of SPN-only fic discussion in the offseason to the fanfic thread, we'd lose the regular posters there. Or they'd ask us to leave. Which, you know, major sore point around the place.

On season, I find it harder to judge. Volume here is generally pretty high when Show is on, with episode-related stuff, and I think fic mentions are more likely to get lost then than canon stuff. Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm paying less attention to fic then anyway, so I have less to say.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Would it be a good idea to have a parallel discussion in the Fanfic thread?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Didn't realize there was one! Checked out the last twenty posts, wasn't too keen, doesn't seem like a neat fit. I have actively checked myself from posting during active Show discussions (hopefully successfully). Understand that my beautiful cake is not others.

Is it the content (and how can it be better censored/avoided?) or just any fic in general.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

The fic thread is really slow right now, and if people who are reading and rec'ing SPN fic do that in the fic thread, there's a group right there, in a mostly dormant thread. Discussion could expand a bit, too, if wanted.

I don't see the need to exclude fic from the fic thread just because it's SPN, especially since there isn't really any other fic discussion ongoing at the moment.

We could give it a try. If people complain we're getting peanuut butter in their chocolate we can always bring it back here.

I'm one who's skimming pretty heavily and afraid I'm going to miss show talk because of it.

I'd rather stop talking about fic than run them out of their thread, despite its low volume.

So I'll just do that instead.

I'm assuming the same goes for fan-created arts and crafts, right?

Oh please don't stop posting links to fan art.
