Those are my two lists. Asterisks are mandatory. Tildes are good eps or give you good additional character material. But, seriously. Watch the whole thing.

But don't even get me started on S2. From Nightshifter, where do you relax? Shawn's husband puttered through two eps because I made her watch What Is And What Should Never Be. And I didn't squeak (much) or hold her hand. But it's such a solid run. Don't skip season 2.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

You didn't asteriskize or tilde Dead in the Water? But-but "I saw something bad happen to my mom, and I didn't want to talk for a while." (Sam, listening, big eyes)

"I know she'd want me to be brave."

DitW is a must-see on my list.

Tilde maybe, not asterisk. I don't think it's key for the ark. And there's no point giving someone a trimmed list that's almost 21 episodes long. I haven't done them any favours. Something's gotta go.

Honestly, I'd only say skip 666 and Bugs for expediency, but I still rewatch them.

Because books.

I couldn't tell anyone in good faith to skip Route 666 because then they'd miss Dean's bare back rippling, and that's a crime.

But I judge anyone who doesn't want to watch straight through from the beginning. Earn your fan status, people.

I think I'm mostly talking to straight boys, so I feel okay with the skippage of the sexyback.

Someone else mentioned that they initially passed on the show because the leads were too pretty. I don't know if it makes me shallow or deep, or just...normal, but I'd never pass on a show because of how the leads looked. That's so not the point.

And, to prove I'm not deep, I love how the leads look. But I love the magic of the show too, and that was there from the start, even as they got their footing.

Don't love show, but like show a lot. Guess as far as the leads go I'm one of the straight boys. Have seen very little of season one. Have never seen pilot or first few episodes. No claim of being a true fan, let alone a trufan of the show. But do enjoy both show and discussions, and will see it all someday.

Because books.

I guess the feeling was if the leads are too pretty, it can't be substantial? Did they never see Buffy, for heaven's sake?

I will always tune in for pretty. I'm shallow, and I don't mind admitting it. But I don't usually stay if there's nothing but pretty. (See: Gossip Girl, for instance.)

Which reminds me -- someone on io9 was spewing pure hate about Ackles in the last post, I think. Disparaging his acting and calling him a frat boy. I was startled, to say the least.

What?? You made me go back on comment on their spiteful ass.

Jesus, the quality of acting in the show is absolutely first rate. (Well some exceptions, but not leads.)
