The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Has it started airing in Japan yet?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

January, according to the article.

IO9 is full of strange people, who keep suggesting skipping seasons 1 and 2. I...I don't know how to talk to them, really. I have two versions of lists of episodes from S1 to watch (1 is arc-only, 1 is arc-plus), but I don't even like handing those out. Watch everything except maybe the racist truck. Maybe Bugs. Maybe. But seriously. Have you people no hearts? Johnny come latelys, alla them.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

well, I can kind of get that Season 1 might be a slog to some people who might not get into it as quickly. But the problem is that if you skip season 1, you don't really get the brothers' relationship which is what the whole fucking show is about.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Seasons 1 and 2 ARE the Show for me. I get that different folks, different ... no, I think they are wrong.

Those are my two lists. Asterisks are mandatory. Tildes are good eps or give you good additional character material. But, seriously. Watch the whole thing.

But don't even get me started on S2. From Nightshifter, where do you relax? Shawn's husband puttered through two eps because I made her watch What Is And What Should Never Be. And I didn't squeak (much) or hold her hand. But it's such a solid run. Don't skip season 2.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

You didn't asteriskize or tilde Dead in the Water? But-but "I saw something bad happen to my mom, and I didn't want to talk for a while." (Sam, listening, big eyes)

"I know she'd want me to be brave."

DitW is a must-see on my list.

I will ahem the anime as fast as Brazil can subtitle it.

Tilde maybe, not asterisk. I don't think it's key for the ark. And there's no point giving someone a trimmed list that's almost 21 episodes long. I haven't done them any favours. Something's gotta go.

Honestly, I'd only say skip 666 and Bugs for expediency, but I still rewatch them.

Because books.

I couldn't tell anyone in good faith to skip Route 666 because then they'd miss Dean's bare back rippling, and that's a crime.

But I judge anyone who doesn't want to watch straight through from the beginning. Earn your fan status, people.
