I looked up the episode title because I couldn't quite shake loose where I knew it from.
A merchant in Baghdad sends his servant to the marketplace for provisions. Shortly, the servant comes home white and trembling and tells him that in the marketplace he was jostled by a woman, who he recognized as Death, and she made a threatening gesture. Borrowing the merchant's horse, he flees at top speed to Samarra, a distance of about 75 miles (125 km), where he believes Death will not find him. The merchant then goes to the marketplace and finds Death, and asks why she made the threatening gesture. She replies, "That was not a threatening gesture, it was only a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Baghdad, for I had an appointment with him tonight in Samarra."

It's fair to stop a fic at this line, right?
The taller one drew his eyes first since he was nearly, if not over, six feet but one scan showed that despite the man’s size he looked rather harmless
I mean, the narrator is talking about the Winchesters. And isn't stupid. Rather, is supposed to be madly observant.
I'm scared to ask, but... what's the other fandom?
Psych. Shawn may have insane bravado, but he's not STUPID. He's just...reckless.
Also, who doesn't know Sam is over six foot for the whole series?
I know I've occasionally read fics for shows I'm unfamiliar with, but wouldn't it be very difficult to write one if you don't know the source material?
I saw someone admit (anon, of course) to writing fic with Gordon AND SHE DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS BLACK.
Wow. Why would you write fic on shows where you don't even know the most basic of facts?
I hate Psych, so I'll be doubly sure to skip that fic.
Hold me. Gedry has started a 25 part HS AU. And there is the promise of no Gassy.
I don't get the desire to write fic about something you haven't seen. That's really reaching for someting to waste time on that you don't even have an emotional connection to, to either elaborate upon or play in or fix. Then again, I've read people writing long-winded and strongly opinionated comments on episodes they haven't watched.
I don't like Psych as much as most fans (I'm in it for Gus, not Shawn), but if you haven't paid enough attention to SPN to notice how freakishly tall Sam is, I don't even want to know if you can nail a Shawn voice. Half the time he's as annoying as shit on the show. Why would I risk my time on this inattentive fic?
I've read both bad and good Psych crossovers. The good was hysterical, and the bad was character-bashy stupidity.
I checked the fic's comments. No one corrects her grievous error. I don't even...I guess it's rude, and everyone would rather hairpat or shut up.
Julie, is the AU D/C? I think I might be a bit of a gedry fan these days...
It's D/C. I'm so in. It's a WIP, so you may want to wait a bit. It's too early to tell, but the take on Dean and Cas each seems to be different than the norm.
