Loved it! I can't remember chuckling through an episode so much.
"I've had time to adjust"
"Oh, did it happen when you were kids?"
"No, like, half an hour ago"
I heart Ben Edlund. So damned much.

The camera angle and Dean's face as he's leaning against the door in the motel room, and his delivery of "...and she hit me", Sam's "I'm not supposed to laugh, right?" and Dean's physicality as he wordlessly tells Sam "absolutely not". "Right." Oh, priceless.
Dean was without his brooding angsty face for much of the ep, and my god, sometimes I forget how beautiful his eyes are when they're not hooded with anger.
Poor Dean. Also, poor RoboSam. I don't think either of those settings goes off for a while.
I wonder if they could get a The Doctor Dances episode? It wouldn't have to be at the end of the season--that would actually weird me out a lot. But just one where they win and they feel happily victorious.

Right? It hit me later that they never got back any of the missing people. They stopped any more first-borns from being taken, but they didn't get to save/rescue those that had already been.
The Doctor Dances?
It's a really good Eccleston-era Doctor Who episode/pair (the first one is The Empty Child). The pair introduces Captain Jack Harkness, which is as much win as the world needs all at once anyway, but it also ushers in "Are you my mummy?" as ultra creepy for Who fans.
BUT that's not why I cite it. I cite it because of the line "Just this once, everybody lives!" And then they all dance because they're happy.
What? It could happen to our boys!
Oh! I like Captain Jack (I've seen clips of Torchwood) and I know I've heard the "Just this one, everybody lives!" line.
Yeah, that would be nice.
because they're happy
which only means that the next episode will be full of torture and betrayal and pain and gone to hell in a handbasket. IJS.
It doesn't get as far as the dancing, but lots of jubilant Doctor. It's quite beautiful.
Our boys have been victorious, but not often enough triumphant.

But that was gonna happen anyway.
