You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I wonder if a lot of people have the brightness on their TVs set too high.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I think my favorite show opener was the second ep of season 2 with The Chamber Brothers "Time Has Come Today". Not a season premiere song, not AC/DC, but a thing of beauty.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Do Sam and Dean use each other's names disproportionately much for a piece of fiction?

I can't work out if it's because I'm paying too much attention, but it doesn't seem possible you could go a couple episodes of this and not know the leads' names, whereas I can often do that with many other shows. Sam, Sam, Sammy, Dean, Dean, Dean.

Because books.

In everyday life, most people (especially in a two-way-only conversation) will only use the other person's name for emphasis, at least in my experience.

So, yes, they do.

Target is using "For Those About to Rock" in an ad right now. I keep expecting to look up and see chrome and freckles and a dimple and a gigantor.

I love fandom. Because I can find season counts for name usage. To wit, season 2:

Sam says Dean's name constantly - he averages 11.8 per episode, while even if you combine both versions of Sams's name, Dean averages to about 7.9 per episode.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Heh, I knew the J's had made fun of Sam's character saying "Dean" all the time, but I didn't think it was enough to count.

This is one of those pros to "if fangirls ran the world." We'd have an accurate count of everything.

I would like a count of how often Cas says Dean's name. Because, in fic? ALL THE FUCKING TIME. An especial count of "Hello, Dean" would also be appreciated.

I feel like doing something fun for tomorrow night. Possibly ... having pie. Actually, that's all I can think of, but I don't have a lot of energy.

It's going to be a family affair, and I'm almost nervous because if there's TALKING during the show I'll have to smack my children some people.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

I spent an entire hour over lunch at a restaurant today holding forth on how Sam was descending into madness as Dean's Deal came due and the whole blood drinking debacle, and how I wish that Show would allow for more of his POV and a better explanation of why he acted as he did (that is, for him to actually have a conversation with Dean where he has a chance to say that no, he didn't choose a demon over his brother, but that when Dean was gone Ruby offered a chance to get strong enough to take on Lilith in their final confrontation. And then once he had Dean back he was determined that since he had lost Dean once already he wasn't going to let that happen again, so he needed to be as strong as possible.) And then I moved on to the whole 66 Seals issue -- Dean actually kick-started the Apocalypse, not to mention everyone/everything who allowed Seals 2 through 65 to be opened, but nobody blames any of them. Sam bears the sole responsibility, despite the fact that he broke the seal while trying to stop the Apocalypse. (And all of these are old issues by now; I know that even though I'm unhappy with what Show has done with Sam's character development that's not likely to change at this point. I'm not looking to restart any old debates at this point.) And then I transitioned to how I hoped that the guys would move on to a point where they could relate without fighting all the damned time, because I'm so tired of them fighting with each other. I miss them interacting as a unit, the Winchesters against the world.

And then I realized that I live in a small town, right next to another small town where a few years ago they actually cancelled a school production of "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" because it has the word "witch" in the title and realized that I'd better keep my voice down. I also realized that I am perhaps even more anxious for tomorrow night than I'd thought.
