Because books.

I feel like doing something fun for tomorrow night. Possibly ... having pie. Actually, that's all I can think of, but I don't have a lot of energy.

It's going to be a family affair, and I'm almost nervous because if there's TALKING during the show I'll have to smack my children some people.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

I spent an entire hour over lunch at a restaurant today holding forth on how Sam was descending into madness as Dean's Deal came due and the whole blood drinking debacle, and how I wish that Show would allow for more of his POV and a better explanation of why he acted as he did (that is, for him to actually have a conversation with Dean where he has a chance to say that no, he didn't choose a demon over his brother, but that when Dean was gone Ruby offered a chance to get strong enough to take on Lilith in their final confrontation. And then once he had Dean back he was determined that since he had lost Dean once already he wasn't going to let that happen again, so he needed to be as strong as possible.) And then I moved on to the whole 66 Seals issue -- Dean actually kick-started the Apocalypse, not to mention everyone/everything who allowed Seals 2 through 65 to be opened, but nobody blames any of them. Sam bears the sole responsibility, despite the fact that he broke the seal while trying to stop the Apocalypse. (And all of these are old issues by now; I know that even though I'm unhappy with what Show has done with Sam's character development that's not likely to change at this point. I'm not looking to restart any old debates at this point.) And then I transitioned to how I hoped that the guys would move on to a point where they could relate without fighting all the damned time, because I'm so tired of them fighting with each other. I miss them interacting as a unit, the Winchesters against the world.

And then I realized that I live in a small town, right next to another small town where a few years ago they actually cancelled a school production of "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" because it has the word "witch" in the title and realized that I'd better keep my voice down. I also realized that I am perhaps even more anxious for tomorrow night than I'd thought.

This marathon on TNT is not airing in production order, because they just went from "Lucifer Rising" to "Sympathy For the Devil" to "Mystery Spot" to "In My Time of Dying". And as an aside, can I say that in IMToD, JA's eyes are HUGE.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

H and I finished the last three eps of S5 tonight. It's the first time I've rewatched 5.22. I bemused myself by being removed and critical and watching H watching for the first time. He didn't have a lot to say, except, "I liked it."

Which is huge, as he really doesn't watch a lot of tv, and he's easily bored and walks away from shows he does watch after a few eps.

Also, the dvd player refused to eject again and has been sent off, a second time, for repair. This time with disc four of S5 in it. We have backup players, so I'm more upset about the absence of the disc than the player.

Tomorrow? I have to watch down the stuff off the dvr I haven't been watching since we've been mainlining SPN. I won't have room for show if I don't clear some space. I think I'll wait and not watch the opener realtime, so I can FF the commercials. I can wait another hour.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Bev, I admire your lofty goals. I would never have the willpower or restraint if it was right there on the TV to watch RIGHT NOW.

I can't watch in real time, and that saddens me, but as soon as I can DL, I'm there. Yay, boys.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm now remembering the trauma of being on the west coast.

I have informed my folks that I won't be answering my cell phone tonight before I go over to their house. (God damn woman, you do not have to call me within an hour of my getting off work every night to find out where I am, what I'm doing, and when I'm coming over. You didn't try to keep this tight a leash on me when I was a teenager!)

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

Blast! I just realized that I'm now on the West Coast delay too - and that my DirecTV lists the East Coast CW feed but won't let me access it - which is just plain mean.
