It's funny--I've read more than once complaints that D/C is OOC. Compared to what? The other slash pairings in the fandom? Seriously? Outside of, what, Bobby/Crowley and Sam/Brady (which I will never let go of, ever), we're all making shit up.
Obviously I'm hugely biased, but we're all on crack.
It's not just a squick for me--I plain don't get it. River/Simon? That I can see from canon. Won't read. Can see. Sam/Dean? Totally cannot see. Their huge entanglement which I adore is incredibly and delightfully messed up, but doesn't go there.
Yes, exactly!
(I make exceptions for dark stuff with demonic possession or Evil!Sam. I'm not proud, just picky.)
watched the Ralph Macchio movie Crossroad (don't judge me. It was there, okay?), and it wasn't even as good as I remembered it.
Steve Vai, guitar player for the Devil!
Sam/Dean? Totally cannot see. Their huge entanglement which I adore is incredibly and delightfully messed up, but doesn't go there.
I once got shouted down for pointing out that all the physical intimacy "tells" someone was citing for a canon Wincest relationship were pretty much normal behavior between bothers who grew up together in each other's pockets, whereas were it happening between unrelated adult friends there might be at least the possibility of something eyebrow-raising going on. I can only assume that the woman I was talking to neither has siblings nor knows anyone who does.
The other story added Dark!Sam to the mix
I like how Sam's own story was handled in Blind Spot, as much as the stories laid out are unfinished by the end. (Sequel! Sequel!)

Well, different families have different levels of physicality. Mine was a lot less touchy-feely than those of some of my friends.

Also who have nothing left but each other, and are, as a rule, in danger of dying or being sucked into hell.
Sam and Dean don't touch all that much. They hug when one of them comes back from the dead, which, okay, more than you or I, but my sister will go into a deep sulk if I leave town without a hug, much less go to hell.
They walk close, but actual touching? When Sam's drunk, or one of them is in trouble or pain or something. I have relatives and platonic friends I touch much more. But I out and out cuddle with various family members, so obviously, you know.
And if you finish that I will kill you.
In Blind Spot Dean does not like pancakes. I have no idea if he's eaten them in canon or not, but it got me thinking of food in fic. There was a really sad moment in a Stanford era story where Dean came to visit Sam and hung out with Jess and she cooked salmon and he had no idea what it was. Such a huge "Boys!" moment, as she noted that she'd been the first to serve it to Sam too.
That seems kind of goofy to me, as Dean is clearly no stranger to television and pop culture and thus would not be sufficiently sequestered to be unaware of salmon.
Also, salmon croquettes weren't exactly haute cuisine when I was a kid, and I can easily envision John Winchester buying fish-in-a-can that he could just plop in a skillet and fry for the kids.
I read badfic for the lulz:
He sat the angel down on the bed, gently. Castiel groaned in pain as he sat down and Dean sat down next to him. Dean cupped the angel’s chin so he could gently move his head to examine the head wounds.
Also, just read on someone's LJ that a LGBT movie website has Season 5 of Supernatural amongst their Best New Gay Releases.
