Xander: I do have Spaghetti-os. Set 'em on top of the dryer and you're a fluff cycle away from lukewarm goodness. Riley: I, uh, had dryer-food for lunch.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I liked this gen Big Bang story much better: Carouselambra. Focusses on the brotherly bond too, and with Dean sacrificing for Sam, but this time I think everyone (including John) stayed well in character. Solid hurt/comfort.

I didn't love it, but of the gen big bang stories I've read this year, it's the strongest other than the Zombie Apocalypse one. Good monster, nice tension, good Sam and Dean. Plus, Weechesterish. Sam and John butting head pre-series is such a delicate balance, without making either of them look bad. I think this story achieved it.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

That one did look interesting. I downloaded the PDF to read later this weekend.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I just finished spastic vision's SPN/DA fic. [link] Besides the sticking point of the premise (major character death, guess who?) it was actually quite good.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Do we know where the best deal on early season dvds are? Need Nephlet present...

I can be a delicate little flower about deathfic, but I did quite like that story, Julie.

Cass, right now Amazon has better prices than B&N, that's all I know.

I'm not normally a huge fan of historical AUs, but this knocked my socks off. The boys are still very much themselves, and it's got a fabulous outsider POV of them and their relationship. The story is presented as a letter home from a wounded WWI soldier, and it has the feel of a letter from the era. Good stuff.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

That was lovely, Anne. Thanks for the rec.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

According to one fic, Castiel has violet eyes.

I'll bet he sings, too. Heavenly choir, and all.
