Because books.

My problem is reading late at night. I apparently read the second part first (duh) and then found the first part this morning. And now I have no idea when or if she'll continue. Much WOE.

I'm willing to concede that there are pictures of JA from a few years ago where, in the right light, you can see he's dark blond. But Dean is NOT. He just isn't. So the fic that calls him "the blonde" a) is wrong, and b) is annoying because he's not a woman. And the art that's got him yellow-haired is jarring.

Dean's bow legs should get much more play. I love his bow legs.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I've been making sure to sign up for alerts to the wips that I do end up reading and liking, and so far the authors have been good about giving the wip it's own tag on LJ.

I've noticed the "long elegant fingers" too, and, while he doesn't have stubby sausage fingers, he doesn't exactly look like he was born to play the piano, either.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Salt'n'Pepa agree about Dean's legs:

Oooo, how you doin', baby?
No, not you
You, the bow-legged one,
(ha-ha) yeah
What's your name?
Damn, that sounds sexy

He's totally burnt into my mind for that song now.

Misha's hands are nice, but yeah, I don't get the description, or fixation. Is it that Cas needs to have a thing, beyond the endless, unbelievable blue eyes (because they are the biggest bluest eyes that ever did blue)? Dean's hands don't seem to get much description.

Don't get me started on Sam's hands. They get described too much, HOWEVER. So fucking hot.

With WIPs I've tended to be so irritated they ended that I haven't signed up for alerts, or they weren't tagged right. Only three or four are waiting for me.

You are so wrong. *g*

I'm thrown by anything that describes him as dark haired. Because it's clear that he's not (I'm willing to concede light-brown-with-blond-coloring, but not dark), even if the cinematography skews to washed out darkification of everything.

Because books.

If anything, I would get a little rhapsodic about Cas's mouth. Because I really love the shape of it -- it's very different than Dean's, but really lovely and sensual in its own way. It's the widest of all three, meaning Dean, Sam, and Cas.

JP's hands are a total kink of mine. Not at all the prettiest man's hands I've ever seen, but they *are* big and there's something about those knobby knuckles that makes me a little incoherent. Mrph.

Oh, PLEI. We've reached stalemate!

Let's talk about their eyes instead!

That pic of Misha with his hand splayed on his thigh . . . good lord. The hair is awful, but, that hand . . .

Amy, I so agree about Misha's mouth.

Isn't it lovely, Julie? I like JP's, too, though -- it's so very different, that little bow on that ginormous man.

Hahaha!

Dude, I totes think eye talk could also get wanky!

See, blond for me goes beyond the end hair coloring. Like, my Uncle Eric's hair had faded down to a serious dull greyish brown by the time he was in his 50s, but he was still a redhead (I'm told it was bright freaking red in his youth, but I wasn't born until he was in his 40), even though his hair had shifted with age. He still had a redhead's skin/beard/etc.

So you get the lighter brows, the reddish stubble, the sandy eyelashes, and a fellow will still register as dark blond in my head, because his coloring is that of a dark blond.

Clearly, the old term brownette needs to be brought back.

Oh my god, don't make me come over there.

I love that JA's beard comes in reddish.
