Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

That pic of Misha with his hand splayed on his thigh . . . good lord. The hair is awful, but, that hand . . .

Amy, I so agree about Misha's mouth.

Because books.

Isn't it lovely, Julie? I like JP's, too, though -- it's so very different, that little bow on that ginormous man.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Hahaha!

Dude, I totes think eye talk could also get wanky!

See, blond for me goes beyond the end hair coloring. Like, my Uncle Eric's hair had faded down to a serious dull greyish brown by the time he was in his 50s, but he was still a redhead (I'm told it was bright freaking red in his youth, but I wasn't born until he was in his 40), even though his hair had shifted with age. He still had a redhead's skin/beard/etc.

So you get the lighter brows, the reddish stubble, the sandy eyelashes, and a fellow will still register as dark blond in my head, because his coloring is that of a dark blond.

Clearly, the old term brownette needs to be brought back.

Oh my god, don't make me come over there.

I love that JA's beard comes in reddish.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

if the cinematography skews to washed out darkification of everything

But the cinematography is the canon.

It's why I don't bristle so much at the descriptions of Cas as black haired when Misha is so clearly a brunet. I did read somewhere in the wank that they dye JA's hair, but I have no idea if it's true. Still show skews dark, show is the text, so there it is.

So--hazel eyes mean they change colour?

They all have really nice mouths. Dean's is obviously suggestive, but Sam has a lovely swell from narrow to bow, and then Cas is just plump, and as most fics would point out, chapped.

seriously and relevant to Misha's hands: [link]

Not bad, I think I can give the writers a pass on this.

No! Do more research!

You can see JA's bow legs in the background, even in the suit. Heh.

I would be willing to guess the long, elegant hands/fingers thing is a writerly shorthand for Cas's overall dignity, and the fact that he's a bit slighter than either Dean or Sam -- not as heavily muscled, etc.
