Although I still don't hate him the way some others do.
Clearly, not scarred by fandom the way I was. And when I say scarred, I mean "reflexive twitching at the name" scarred.
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

I wasn't really in fandom then. Probably the difference. I was just home alone, watching and babbling to my poor husband.
Plei, did you see the picture of NPH in the comments of the latest poll (the Dean/Spike one)? ADORABLE AND HOT.
Oh, man. There are some seriously snarly back and forths in the archived threads. Esp. archived spoilers.
I'm mellower now. Honest.

I DID NOT! Email me the link.
How about the picture? Incoming.
ME TOO PLEASE
Insent!
I witnessed some of the Spike (and Tara) fallout on the Bronze: Beta, after the fact, but I just wasn't ... in that deep at that point? And I was a total newbie, too, and a little intimidated about speaking up, so. I mostly ignored it.
That was my experience, too, Amy. Which is probably why I'm still such a huge Spike fangirl. If I'd started from the beginning I might have been just as tired and disgusted by it all as many others. I didn't start watching until the sixth season and it was the fuckedupedness between Spike and Buffy that really drew me to the show. What can I say, I'm pretty bent.
I honestly think Drusilla is the key to getting an enjoyable Spike performance.
SPIKE&DRU4EVAH!
One of the things I relished about Spike in the beginning was how wholeheartedly happy he was to be evil, and powerful, and immortal.
Yes. That's why I was so fond of him. He wasn't tortured or upset about his existence. Happy Meals! On legs!
But when *he* got angsty, it got pretty ugly.
True. Sad, but true.
