Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's supposed to be good, I think.

I'm wondering about "Luminosity" by devilsduplicity. The vid was really cool. But I'm not sure about the non con and torture. I might as well dive into End!fic.

Because books.

Thanks, lcat! It's good to know you loved it -- I'll save it till tomorrow. We're watching the very last Tudors episode anyway, which seems appropriate since we went to Ren Faire today.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I just finished a reread of it, Amy. It's definitely worth the read, but probably not if you're already tired.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Why, when Misha only seems to be a few inches shorter than Jensen, do fics insist on calling him the "tiny/short guy"?

Spent my insomniac time watching My Bloody Valentine. So funny to see Jensen ina peacoat and not driving the Impala.

Because books.

Well, I peeked at it since I was feeling second-windy later, and ended up staying up till two to finish it. That was FANTASTIC. I want to hold it and pet it and name it George.

Because fics are really sizeist? Actually, I haven't seen him described as short so much as shorter. Skinny, for sure. A lot of writers really seem to care about how big he appears in and outside of his trench.

What's currently disturbing me with a pervasive attitude in fics is the gender politics that still make it through into slash. I don't mind Dean having issues with seeming like a girl, because that's Dean. But I don't like it when it seems to be the author's voice, or one of the other characters. Also, he needs to get over it.

And then there's the top/bottom politics. It makes me shiver to think it's supposed to be that simple who's vulnerable and who's not. It makes straight sex seems so predestined.

Aww, the poster on WX who went to a con because I was going on and on about how funny Misha's twitter was had a great time and reported that the man himself was goodlooking and funny and she enjoyed her photo op.

I'm glad it worked out for her, otherwise I'd have felt guilty somehow.

I am jealous of you Wincesters, dammit. So little good gen, het and D/C out there in the BB. I'm holding onto Apocalypse Z with glee, though.

The thing about this story, ita, is that she could remix it so easily without the 'cest, which is minimal, really. It's about them needing each other and their history and the ways they're tied together, and her characterization of them is so incredibly sharp, it's just shuddery-happy.

On the whole, though, I agree with you -- I haven't even found many Wincest Big Bangs I've enjoyed. I also haven't tried too many, I'll admit, but I don't want AU and I don't want evil!Sam, so.

Not helping the jealousy!

I'm about to read the D/C with noncon, hoping I can skim those bits. I'm not optimistic. But I need stuff to read.

I'm sorry! I'm still in that glowy yet jealous place myself, though, all "I'm unworthy!" because she just writes so beautifully.
