Not if he gets there first, which he does here.
I realise my problem with the Sam/Castiel upthread is that Castiel doesn't get treated like a real boy, especially by Dean. We're shown in so many ways that he's
surreally bonded with Dean, mimicking him, etc, and then Dean just leaves him out there by the mistletoe for Sam, and it's more than a bit creepy and submissive.
And I'm not sure were to go with falling in love with the guy because he brought happiness back to your brother. There's a therapy minefield right there, but it's in character. Just wonder why the brother didn't get there first, is all.
Dean/Jess, Sam/Jess: The Only People For Me Are The Mad Ones,
You know how sometimes you're reading a story, and kind of glossing over the spelling or grammar issues because you're enjoying it, and then something COMPLETELY RANDOM throws you out of it?
He makes his way through the musty stacks of the Robert Crown Library slowly, checking around every corner. He knows its stupid, that Sam could easily see him, but the lure of actually being close to his brother, not just watching him from two hundred feet away, is too much to resist. Dean finds his little brother tucked into a corner on the third floor, one of only four other people in the library at one a.m. on a Saturday. Good to know he hasn’t changed at all.
Crown is the law library at Stanford, so it's not a big undergrad hangout (and Dean didn't know until the pilot that Sam was thinking law school), it ain't musty, and it closes at 9:00 on Saturdays.
Love the no forehead touching warning!

Hah! This is awesome! Fortunately for the author there's a very small population of readers who will get thrown out of the story for knowing this.

BWAH! Yeah, the Psych crossover ita linked to was great, except, THAT IS NOT HOW REAL ESTATE SELLING WORKS.
...And then after a while, you decide to get over the COMPLETELY RANDOM thing and start reading again, and then the second paragraph after the paragraph that made you stop reading is something like
Dean waits until Sam gets up, heading for the bathroom on the other side of the floor, and then goes over to his table. A quick glance at the textbooks tells him Sam’s studying pre-law. It fits. Sam’s favorite thing on earth is fighting with people. Won’t back down even when he knows he’s wrong, even when it means leaving his whole family behind.
and the "NONONO, that's not how it works" is just too loud to let you keep reading, which is a good thing, since you have a brunch to get ready for.
I had a hard time with the head-hopping more than anything else. Pick a POV and stick with it for one scene, author!
I liked Jess in that story, although she's not really the Jess in my head, and I liked Dean, but Sam felt off to me. And I guess I've never read that particular combination going off together without it ending up Wincest, too, so I'm not sure how the dynamics would work here.
I just found Cowboy!Dean and Preacher!Cas fic.
Haven't started them yet. Got distracted by the "go back to sleep" vid (omg so f-ing good) and then got lost on youtube. Will report back.
