I dove into another big bang this morning and I'm so regretting it. Jo has been offensively domesticated so far and I fear it's only going to get worse.
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Gah, that sounds delightful, ehab. Jo is so rarely done well by in fandom.
Apocalypse Z is the only big bang fic I can wholeheartedly recommend so far. It had me laughing out loud several times.
I was tempted by that one's summary, ehab, because Jo/John holds a naughty fascination for me, but domesticating her is wrong!
her opening notes of "seeing how all of us Dean/Cas shippers were pissed off at how obviously OOC they were in Swan Song" ticks me off
Ugh. I'm pissed at the D/C shippers that are pissed that their ship was messed with by the finale, and the the Wincesters that think that their ship was validated instead. Why can't we all just get along? We're all making shit up, anyway. Well, except for the Bobby/Crowley and the Sam/Brady shippers. Those have text on their sides.
I've been waiting for architeuthis to update his Song of Songs series
He's probably caught up in the D/C big bang. I'm excited for his contribution, since I think he's down with awesome Sam. It's nice to think there's going to be an entire big bang dedicated to my favourite ship, but I'm askeered of upcoming character assassination including incredible amounts of OOC schmoop.
Pardon my ignorance, but can someone please explain "big bang"? TIA!
I don't know if there's an official word count, but essentially it means "large ficathon with multi-chaptered stories and artwork". Right now SPN is in the middle of unveiling a general/RPF one (it will go on until August--there are about 300 authors) and there's a Dean/Cas one unveiling in October.
Apparently there was wank about one ship having its own big bang, but whatev. Chill out, fandom.
Ah, thank you, ita!
Oooh, boy, did I like "Where the World Begins". I think, maybe, I've had my fill of angsty, angry, shouty, fiercely and violently passionate stories. Although there was that in places. Foreheads touching is my new kink.
Oh, "Apocalypse Z" was fun! The appendix was especially nifty. And I recognized the quotes from the Zombie Survival Guide. (In my last job my manager kept a copy in his office. We agreed that the former EPA building up the road would be easy to fortify, but we suspect that any zombie outbreak could well emanate from there, so we were torn.)
I can't say I liked Where The World Begins, but I just read Last Chance (To Lose Control) and noticed a forehead touch, so have at 'em, Julie.
The appendix was especially nifty
It was! I wish there had been more art, though, with SPN characters in. Everything was nice and crisp and well done, and I wanted more.
Dean/Jess, Sam/Jess: The Only People For Me Are The Mad Ones, though I find I don't like stories in which Jess lives. It makes me realise that I'm a Sam/Sarah shipper, however that works out.
(Warning: No foreheads touching)
