Sam looks like a light breeze would knock him over.
What is the anime covering? Extra-textual stories? Or backstory?
I keep meaning to get the comic but I'm never in Oswego at the comic book store, and I'm not sure they're carrying it. Or have any left or whatever.
What is the anime covering?
The first season, including some untold stories.
I've never been a comics person. I need text (I've never read the Sandman series--tried three times). I bought the first number of the first series at the Atlanta F2F, sort of as a keepsake. And then I...just sort of collected the rest. Under compulsion, I assume. Or my dratted need for completeism. I haven't read any of them, just bagged and boarded and stacked on a shelf. Seems a sad waste. I have only the last number to get to complete the current series. I'm going to try to resist any further series.

Actually, it's the first two seasons, plus new stories including Weechesters.
I'm looking forward to the anime. I actually kind of like the drawnings. They're stylized and not awful. The US comic had horrible renditions of all the Winchesters so these are something of a relief.
I am not so sure about the voices once JA and JP stop contributing. I might prefer listening to it with the original Japanese and subtitles. The Japanese Sam & Dean are kind of cool.
I was obsessed with Bleach (Japanese Anime) for a while. I always watched with subtitles and the voice acting was great (even if I didn't understand). I recently saw the English dubbed version and it was awful.
I have seen styles of anime that could manage a recognizable cartoon Dean, but he's not recognizable rendered in this style. Sam actually is (thanks to Season 1 hair and Padalecki's straight-from-Macross nose) and yet at the same time manages to look more suited to being a pop singer than hunting monsters.
I think I've overshipped. I've broken something.
I realise I'm having a massively hard time parsing any slash fic where Dean and Castiel both show up but either of them is paired with someone else, unless it's crack Sassy. My goggles are totally misted over with just that one pairing.

Well Dean/Castiel may not quite be Canon. But it is so close as to at least be shoulder fired rocket launcher. Is there a literary term for the borderline between text and subtext?
I can hear Dean say, "dude, you fugly". That's really bad.
Just saw a preview for NBC's fall The Cape. A pretty man tragically separated from his family and fighting bad guys to save (the world) his city. Wonder if his name is Adam Winchester?
When I was driving home this afternoon "Renegade" was on the radio. That song will absolutely always fling me right back to Sam and Dean looking tired and desperate, dressed in the yummy all black SWAT uniforms, staring at each other in the front seat of the car realizing just how bad their situation is. Such a perfect use of music at just the right time.
