Wow. Just, wow: A Person as a Boat Not so much a Swan Song coda as a "how we wound up with Sam outside Lisa's house".

Season 5, Round 3, Bracket #1/1:
Dean: Team Free Will. One ex-blood junkie, one drop out with 6 bucks to his name, and Mr. Comatose over there. Awesome. 11:8
vs
SAM: I saw your eyes. You were totally rockin' the "yes" back there. So, what changed your mind?*****************
Chuck: Three days later another car rolled off that same line. No one gave two craps about her, but they should've. Because this 1967 Chevrolet Impala would turn out to be the most important car... no, the most important object in pretty much the whole universe. 17:2
vs
Dean: Sammy? Sammy? It's okay, I'm here. I'm not going to leave you. 11:8*****************
Chuck: So what's it all add up to? Well, it's hard to say. But me, I'd say it was a test. For Sam and Dean. And I think they did alright. Up against good, evil, angels, devils, destiny, and God himself - They made their own choice. They chose family. And well, isn't that kinda the whole point? 10:9
vs
Dean: Cas, not for nothing, but the last person who looked at me like that...I got laid. 10:9*****************
Ellen: I said go. And Dean? Kick it in the ass. Don't miss. 15:4
vs
Dean: Then I ain't going to let him die alone. 12:7Team Free Will
Sammy? Sammy? It's okay, I'm here. I'm not going to leave you. (THAT WAS HARD)
Cas, not for nothing, but the last person who looked at me like that...I got laid. (that was easy)
I said go. And Dean? Kick it in the ass. Don't miss. (that was also easy, but because Sammy? Sammy? It's okay was above, so no need to duplicate effort!)
For starters, I hate you all. You picked the wrong things.
Now, let me vote.

Jimmy's dead!
I mean, of course he could be in the fic, but he needs to be dead by now, doesn't he? Castiel's been 'sploded twice now. Jimmy needs a rest.
And if Castiel is going back to Heaven and leaving a host behind...hey! Maybe Jimmy will join Sam and Dean next year and train to be a hunter.

Fic, most def. But I think that Show deciding to keep Jimmy around, with or without his family, might be a nice new dynamic and give Misha something to work with now that Cas isn't angsting and existenstial despairing anymore and has his mojo back and then some.
In ficland, I can see Jimmy and Dean running into each other, becoming friends, Jimmy helping pull Dean out of his "faking it" existence because, besides Bobby, whom Dean is avoiding, he's the only one left that has any idea what Dean has been through. And then I can see that friendship being cause for Jimmy consenting to be Castiel's vessel again when Dean inevitably gets in trouble.
I found this one, [link] which is almost where I want it to be.
In show, if Misha comes back, I don't think they dealt enough with vesseldom (or at least inconsistently), at least to my satisfaction. But that might be a reason for Show to avoid Jimmy like the plague and have Castiel pull an Anna.
We did it on purpose, ita.

I got laid.
Then I ain't going to let him die alone.
I can't lie, I really want Jimmy dead. I think the poor man has suffered way enough and deserves his eternal reward. Much like I feel about Adam. Enough already. Rest.
Not to mention Jimmy and Dean makes my shippery heart sad, because I don't ship the two of them (it's a miserable pairing--I read it, but not for satisfaction).
Perkins, I know you do it on purpose. I'm trying to believe better of everyone else.
