Now we're saving a vampire from vampires. I got two words for that -- Nuh and uh.

Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

ah ... I was thinking about most people on this board. Although, consider the SPN fandom ....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Although, consider the SPN fandom ....

Still, not most of the viewers.

Honestly, Show is very indulgent of the obsessive. But explaining why a character decides to stop wearing a bracelet? I stop wearing jewelry all the time and there's no story. We don't follow the boys to the loo either.

Only since the restraining order.

Because books.

I have to side with ita on the Impala, especially. She saved the world as much as the yellow crayon Dean did in 5.22.

I've read that the writers said that they're moving past what the amulet represents, so I feel they know damned well what they've created. I'm just scared about what that means.

And I think for Dean taking something Sam had meant for John meant really facing his role as the father figure Sam *could* count on.

But we know where Dean's idol worship of John got him. And we know how the boys have fought to move past the roles they established as kids. So to me, as horrible as that scene was, I'm just shorthanding it into "putting away childish things". And that now, in S6, they can start from a new point and find some kind of balance as equals.

Meanwhile, I'll just be over here with my hands over my ears singing, "La la la la la ..."

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Hee!

Okay, I freely admit my obsession with trivia and minutia. But to me it's sort of like changing Batman's uniform. If a thing has been consistent (bracelet, ring) for the entire time a character has been in the public view, changing it needs at least a token explanation.

You know. Or not.

I need to quickly agree with ita and Amy about the Impala--her role was only confirmed by the finale. And I can certainly agree with the reasoning about the amulet, and try to believe show figured fans were smart enough to figure that out.

A nod to Dean divesting himself of talismans he'd worn as touchstones, to ground him--the bracelet and ring--as he prepared to accept Michael would have been nice, though. Either taking them off onscreen, or a line about "leaving that behind".

I'm done now. At least out loud.
