So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'm blaming Edlund for that particular piece of messed up. I'm sure Kripke HELPED, mind you.

Because books.

It's good writing because it provides conflict, though. It would be convenient to pick someone who found faith because they were dying or had nothing left to lose.

I think the tragedy with Jimmy is that he was simply a faithful man and a believer, but being *chosen* made him feel special. He consented, but he didn't really have any idea what he was signing up for. By the time he had a chance to go home, he was more than ready -- but then he had to save his family, which meant giving them up.

The bloodline stuff intrigues me. It implies heredity plays as big a role as choice. It's all kinds of disturbing to think about.

What made Jimmy's kid say yes?

Also, in S1, when Bobby first told us about demons possessing humans it was implied demons could exist without possession. We haven't seen that have we?

Anna re-made was arguably an Angel without a host which makes me wonder why they don't all form themselves instead of taking a host.

There should be a DNA test to determine if you're in the angel bloodline. I'd totally take it and not procreate if I was in the bloodline.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It would be convenient to pick someone who found faith because they were dying or had nothing left to lose.

I think a lot of the fic writers were trying to get rid of the pesky consent issues (much like the pressing assumption is now that Jimmy died in 4.22) by putting the vessel at the end of the journey.

I think Kripke or Edlund or whoever definitely made the more interesting choice in having Joe Normal (+faith) be the one instead.

But they didn't have to worry about porn. Well, not on the surface, anyway.

What made Jimmy's kid say yes?

Love? Not knowing better?

Demons without hosts and Anna with her called in favours were definitely things dropped. I think they cheated with Anna in order to get actress continuity, which I can't totally blame them for, but when so much of the show is about vessels... she was able to evince much power in her constructed meatsuit, so it falls on the storytellers to explain to us just why this was never a solution someone as powerful as Lucifer or Michael could exercise.

And the demon thing with Bobby, I'm guessing they just hadn't started thinking yet. Oops.

Does anyone know if Kripke had already decided what Mary was apologising for in Home?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Here it is, boys and girls:

Season 4, Round 5:

Castiel: I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition. 16:2

vs

Bobby: You stupid, stupid son of a bitch! Well, boo hoo! I am so sorry your feelings are hurt, princess! Are you under the impression that family's supposed to make you feel good, make you an apple pie, maybe? They're supposed to make you miserable! That's why they're family! 10:8

And because it's easy....
