I'm very sorry if she tipped off anyone about your cunningly concealed herd of cows.

Having someone mention Phil Plait on b.org is one of those cool personal crossover events. Sort of like the Astronomy Cast podcast from DragonCon where they had on Phil Plait and the Science Advisor from BSG.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My office is creepily quiet today. There are four of us at the end of the hall, and then no one else! In my department, we have four people out of town and two vacant positions. Next down the hall is someone on vacation, and one who I thought would be here, since she's the CEO and is supposed to be running an all-staff meeting in fifteen minutes. I think there are a couple of other people down the other hall, but still.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Hugh Laurie's hair when younger was a soft light brown, just the other side of blond. Becker always looked blond to me.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I know, right!

I adore Phil Plait.

Days like that are always sort of creepy, especially when nobody has turned on the hall lights.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

In happier news, Obama is a Wire fan. OMG!!!!1!

And he collects Spider-man comics.

Also from that article:

His favourite book is Moby-Dick by Herman Melville

I guess I can forgive him this. (Maybe.)

His favourite music includes Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Bach and The Fugees

Okay, the big fucking whale book is forgiven.

He doesn't drink coffee and rarely drinks alcohol

And again, my loyalty is called into question. NO COFFEE? That's just wack. Maybe he's a robot.

As a teenager he took drugs including marijuana and cocaine

I love how, post-"I didn't inhale" and post-W. (who snorted anything remotely white and powdery), drugs aren't even an issue anymore.

He uses an Apple Mac laptop

Okay, all is forgiven. I LOVE YOU OBAMA!!!

WRT Becker, I actually think I may be a victim of the complexion thing Ouise mentioned. He seems like he ought to be a redhead! But maybe he actually isn't.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I've been asked to track when some people in my department take coffee breaks.

ION - I am with sara on the blown 2008 budget. But more recently I've just not been managing the money well. I need to put in a load of reimbursables, but my paperwork is a mess right now. I guess that should be my project tonight while I have the helper.

brillig

drugs aren't even an issue anymore

I was also surprised when I saw that and realized that at no time in the election was it brought up. Made me wonder what McCain was hiding that they just didn't want to go there.
