Zoe: Don't think it's a good spot, sir. She still has the advantage over us. Mal: Everyone always does. That's what makes us special.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse- I am weirded out, because my favorite name is Marguerite, nicknamed Daisy!

Don't be weirded out, because it is the cutest thing ever! Even though my grandmother thinks it's tacky.

I just realized I probably can't do it now because my cousin just named her daughter Mason-called-Masey (Mason is a family name).

Punishingly Intricate

I love the name Virgil!

I have noticed a lot of two-named girls since we moved to GA: Anna Grace, Katie Grace, Anna Frances, and there's one other at Casper's school that I am forgetting.

My Texas family always called me by both names--Lisa Ann. My niece is an Anna Grace but she just goes by Anna (except my Texas dad calls her by her full name, the cycle continues).

My grandmothers were Hazel and Lillian. My sister called dibs on Lillian, which was fair since Lillian wasn't my biological grandmother.

My good friends who had a baby girl this year (and had the babyshower where I met Chicago Bob) named her Hazel after a grandmother. They have mostly been calling her Zellie. I love it!

“Not dead yet!”

So I had my first workout with New! Trainer! today.

Mostly stretching and assessment. He was flabbergasted at how flexible I was, considering I haven't worked out regularly in over eighteen months. My strength is for caca though, but he feels fairly confident, looking at my body makeup, that I should be able to work back up to that and regain muscle mass relatively easily. Says we'll have to take it easy on free weights though, since it's obvious I can build my shoulders to linebacker proportions fairly easily. Heh. Didn't need him to tell me that.

Anyhow, we'll call the first session a win.

Now, there will be split pea soup in my future, which is good since it's getting very blustery and will be raining with dropping temps throughout the afternoon.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Free coal mine rides for everyone!

Yay!

I haven't been on the U-505 tour since I was a kid. Of course, normally there are long lines for it, so they'd be worse during free admission....

Ann, that's a ferret.

There are at least two other people with my first and last name--an Irish artist and a South American socialite. Low-assed odds.

I also know of two with my first and last, but one doesn't really count because he's my father. (Such is life as Fred, Jr.) The other was a TV clown.

A really excellent profile on Michelle Obama, especially her being a product of the South Side of Chicago.
