Yeah, the backup scripts are all slow -- basically, all the ones I've looked at have to ping LJ to request each entry and comment separately -- and I hope I'll never need it, but I'm crap at backups so it's good to have some impetus to do it.

I backed up my LJ during Strikethrough or some other incident in the 2+ years since I got this laptop, so now I just occasionally open LJ archive and grab stuff. It's handy when I want to know what I was thinking when I was younger.

I got it right, but not for the reasons they gave. i.e. - to delve into spoiler font - seemed to me that the premises might establish that any further observation should get the stated result, but one can still screw up an observation, and nothing in the premises prevents that.
