Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh my goodness, with Phoebe Cates and Page Hannah and I can't remember who all else, but it takes place on the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach.

Bridget Fonda? Isn't she in that?

You name them after destructo-gods?

Point, Cass.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Huh. Last night, meds and alcohol worked great to put me to sleep and dull the pain a bit. Tonight, no sleep, no pain dulled, but feeling kind of high. It's interesting, but not quite what I wanted.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

That was disturbing, MTBF.

I traumatize because I care. Plus, with ita having been on vacation, it was time for someone to pick up the slack...

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Um, and I'm a smartass. It was required to join the 'fistas.

Ha!

Hil R. is a stoner, pass it on! And also, I hope you get some good, pain-free sleep. Don't mean to mock without empathy.

Oh, and in totally unrelatedness, Jilli, if your next article is about Goth and religion, I have a few links that might interest you. One is to a group that does a Goth outreach tent at a Christian festival put on by a bunch of hippies. And one is to a couple of Christian Goth bands.

We were just thinking about them recently, because we were hanging out with our buddy the other night. Crazy photographer guy, lives in a tepee in Wyoming, travels around and shoots photos. Anyway, years ago, we'd invited him to come with us to that festival and he'd said, sure. He turned up, late because he'd been roaming the grounds trying to find us. So I took him straight to the show tents, directly to one of those bands.

Only I didn't tell him it was a Goth band, or anything about them. So his first experience with Christian music is this crazy theatrical band dipping flags in stage blood and setting things on fire and singing, "Apocalypse" in dulcet tones.

Hee.

He still tells that story.

Anyway, I'm super interested in what you turn up for your next article, and I'm happy to talk to you about perceptions about the goth community from the Christian side of things if it would be at all helpful to you. Profile addy good.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Heh. I remember a panel my friend Jim MacDonald and Gene Wolfe were on, about Catholics in SF/F, where they bonded over the realization that most of their protagonists (and bad guys) liked to dress in black. It was totally a "AIFG!" moment.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset
