Heh. I remember a panel my friend Jim MacDonald and Gene Wolfe were on, about Catholics in SF/F, where they bonded over the realization that most of their protagonists (and bad guys) liked to dress in black. It was totally a "AIFG!" moment.

Okay everyone - my office is empty with a capital EMPTY today. Please to be posting as much as possible so I don't die of boredom.
A coworker just posted on Facebook that's she's one of 3 people (out of like 25) in the office where she is.
I am at work! I got a little (probably temporary) New Year's gift from my grad school, which charged me in-state tuition even though I told them I moved out of state. Since the out-of-state rate is 300% more than the in-state, I am happy to pay it. (While realizing they may figure this out, eventually.)
I've got an overwhelming urge to get my hair cut today! I suspect I'd better act on it before my enthusiasm goes away.
I'm watching Kitchens of the future videos on YouTube. I love the Monsanto PSA from 1957! Plastics!
I'm at work. Still groggy, and simultaneously wired from coffee. I am now far too talkative for my own good....
Also, got my W-2's so I can file my taxes now if I want.
I dreamed I left work after only an hour.
Unfortunately, I have too much to do.
I think my favorite thing about this one is how we still assume that In The Future, everyone will use videophones. As if the technology were still just beyond our grasp (as opposed to being completely available and mostly unused because it turns out people don't really want to communicate that way).
On my list of things to deal with today (non-work): make dentist appointments; buy life insurance. Boy, being an adult is fun.
