Gunn: Well, how horrible is this thing? Lorne: I haven't read the Book of Revelations lately, but if I was searching for adjectives, I'd probably start there.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Sumi, I've been having discoveries of things that Netflix has on Watch Now (I'm almost done with the UK Office, so I will soon be able to watch the US). I ::heart:: technology.

Hooray for cooking success!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

When I was Abby's age, I loved to bake. Hell, I still love to bake.

My mom and I watched Wall-E while I took down the xmas tree (did the luminarias yesterday). I moved the shoe racks and have reclaimed the closets.

I also found a box for my brother's gift, which means WOO POST OFFICE tomorrow.

Washed clothes, folded em too. I should have taken a nap since K took N to watch the outdoor hockey game elsewhere.

Oh wait. I just got sucked into the Winter Classic. It's so random.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Me, too, Kat!

I'm trying to find a focus for this column.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy new year everyone! We had a great time last night and this morning hanging out at Nicole's in our inside pants. I even brought my martini glass pants for the occasion. Back at Suzi's now for a nap and then more hanging out before dinner.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oofdah. Emmett and I just got back from running in the park. Kezar Stadium was closed so we jogged to the AIDS Memorial Grove and ran up and down the (rather long) steps there five times. On the way we met a very nice whippet (Maestro) and his owner. She let us throw the ball for Maestro and watching a whippet flat out go was very pleasing on a New Year's Day.

We had waffles for breakfast and mimosas, and I just had a tasty and healthful salad (butter lettuce, cherry tomatoes, feta - Annie's balsamic dressing).

So far feeling a good balance of indulgence and New Yearish resolve and activity. Matilda continues to nap. JZ continues to scrub everything within arms-length.

My phone just decided I should call Burrell Instead of Nicole. Sorry about that Burrell

Compassionately intolerant

Didn't sleep well, but not in an unpleasant way. I'd drunk too much juice and an entire bottle of sparkling cider so, you know...

Major flurry of activity and a nice breakfast in front of my great room front windows watching very little world walk by until mid afternoon.

Then collapsed into a nap, from which I've woken with a very gronky head. Not liking it.

Bartleby is still injured, so no big walks just now...not a sacrifice given the temperature. But we'll have to go out pretty soon.

Much laundry done, organizing, purging etc. More to come.

Yay 2009.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

For a fun post-NYE drink lesson, Rachel Maddow shows how to make a Jack Rose. She's very strict about what constitutes real lime juice and how much you should shake the drink.

Thrive to spite them

I slept until noon today. Got up and had leftovers and then cleaned a bit, then spent time on SL.

Oh I watched Sesason 1 Disc 1 of Muppet Show, well I'm only up to half of Joel Grey's episode, so not very far into it.

Yesterday at work we had several people calling to get payments in for the 2008 tax year. We had to explain that it was too late, there was no way to process them in time. And then I had to explain in the afternoon that no one was available to take their payment, and even if there was it was too late. Waiting until Dec 31 @3:00 pm to make a credit card payment over the phone is not a very wise idea. Especially since we are normally closed on Dec 31.
