I fed off a flowerperson, and I spent the next six hours watchin' my hand move.

Thrive to spite them

I slept until noon today. Got up and had leftovers and then cleaned a bit, then spent time on SL.

Oh I watched Sesason 1 Disc 1 of Muppet Show, well I'm only up to half of Joel Grey's episode, so not very far into it.

Yesterday at work we had several people calling to get payments in for the 2008 tax year. We had to explain that it was too late, there was no way to process them in time. And then I had to explain in the afternoon that no one was available to take their payment, and even if there was it was too late. Waiting until Dec 31 @3:00 pm to make a credit card payment over the phone is not a very wise idea. Especially since we are normally closed on Dec 31.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Happy New Year! We had a lovely gathering of some of our closest friends last night. We snacked, drank alcoholic and non, played Rock Band, watched the ball drop and toasted with many bottles of delicious champagne (and ND shared some of his new Christmas scotch, which was quite good), and went back to playing Rock Band, talking, and laughing a lot. The last people left just before 5 this morning, and we have just now woken up and are thinking about food. I have grading to do every day until school starts back up on Monday, but I'm thinking a nummy breakfast of some sort is necessary first.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Ha ha, episodes of Leverage On Demand. I've been meaning to watch this.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, I have done Stage One of dealing with paper/files/etc. So that's something. More tomorrow! Or maybe even later this evening.

And I see what TLC thinks people make their new year's resolutions about -- all night is shows about incredibly fat people.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

She's very strict about what constitutes real lime juice and how much you should shake the drink.

She's a cocktail snob! We could totally go drinking together.

Just know that she will judge you by your order.

Not a problem! My current favorite drink has rye, cognac and bitters in it.

For those who are not cocktail snobs but would want to impress Rachel Maddow should you be having drinks with her, the two fool proof cool drinks to have in front of a cocktail snob would be: The Aviation (Betsy is a partisan of this, incidentally) or The Negroni.

Or, you know, just order what you prefer.
