Is there some divide in the sci fi community where one can only like sw or st?

Apparently if you like Star Wars you're a lightweight who's only in it for the adventure and gee-whiz, where as Trekkies are in it for the science and intercultural philosophizing. Or something.

Wow, that's just...huh?

Gah people, I am so bored - I have three things with me I could do while sitting in this waiting room, but I don't wanna.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

OTOH, is there a shortage of people for jobs that trade schools train for?

Absolutely. Any discussion of reviving nuclear power or building alternate energy facilities on a large scale eventually gets to the question of "Where the hell will we get the welders?" We're missing practically a generation of machinists, instrument and controls techs and the like.

Welders! People should watch flashdance more.

Ok, I did one of things I had with me. West coasters why no chatter?

West coasters why no chatter?

I think I went into a boredom coma.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Maybe that is what the government can do for the economy-- make places that need welders and then train welders. Like a combo of Rosie the Riveter and the WPA. I am awful sick of being an office worker. I keep looking longingly at the woman who drives around in a little cart and weeds the gardens.

I has no plans.

My usual NYE plans are foiled because my BFF has to go with her husband to an Alcoholics Anonymous party. I can't be upset, but it would be weird for him to bring 2 dates! I might hang with her mom and watch British sitcoms and her children.

Boy, I am lame!

“Not dead yet!”

The rugrats have been invited to a sleepover which means alone time for me and Lewis. Plus, he has two days off this week for the first time in a month, so no alarms of any sort tomorrow or Thursday.

There will probably be takeaway from Russo's Italian and the plugging in of the new PS3 so we can watch Blu-Ray discs. He hasn't seen The Dark Knight so that'll probably be on tap.

For Thursday there will be parades and football and Honeybaked Ham and stuffing sandwiches. Oh, and dark chocolate brownies.

Lord, I'm boring.
