This is pretty cool: Early Carol Burnett on The Ed Sullivan Show
If this is truly 1957 as stated (and I have no reason to doubt it), then this is two years before Burnett got her first major break in the Broadway musical Once Upon a Mattress, although she had done some television work beforehand. This is ten years before her immortal self-titled show would hit as a series. And I can't quite tell, frankly, how parts of her routine are going over with the audience. I'm wondering if they knew what to do with her, frankly. But I think it's great. Hints of the mayhem that was to come.
I am wishing safety for you and yours, Nilly and Shir. I also wish for truce and talking to come soon.
Oh! There are chances my sis would be home tomorrow for 48 hours!
Buffistas~ma for this would be very, greatly appreciated. I'm not sure when was the last time Little Fiend had rest, or even grabbed a shower.
And an update: IDF put cannons outside of the Strip, first time in 12 months. Egypt shot dead a person from the Strip, trying to escape.
I can't believe my country has so much to do with the hell over there.
-ma for the Little Fiend.
Oh, Nilly and Shir, our thoughts are with you and everyone there. I hope reason and peace can prevail.
{{hugs you all}}
I'm about familied out, here. My brother's been staying with me for a week and it's been pretty constant family time since last Saturday, other than the day after Christmas, which I spent in bed. I love my family but I'm so used to my alone-time it's kind of hard to deal with the constant presence of people.
Update: Egyptian officer was shot dead while fighting Palestinians trying to breach through the crossing.
Now I'm thinking: do you guys need a map for all of those updates? I'm name dropping a lot of places.
sending the ma~~~~ to Shir and Nilly and their families. and a big swat upside the head to all the governments involved - talk to each other and stop killing people.
Lots of ~ma sent Middle East-wards.
More updates:
First, The Gaza-Sderot blog is back in action.
Second, in here, the Post is refusing to make it to the Surround Gaza zone. (4.5km from the Strip's border.) The doctors of the night medical centre - also. Public transportation is failing. Phone lines damaged by rockets had not been fixed.
Keeping fingers crossed for the safety of our Israeli Buffistas and their loved ones.
