It was so kind of you to think of me. You really warmed my heart.
When you posted about it in the past, it really impacted me, and stuck around in a corner of my brain, to be recalled today. Your experience is not what one thinks of when the word "anniversary" is used (since the word tends to imply a happy occasion), but I was moved by how you responded to it and how it's shaped your life to such a good end.
Peace to you today, bonny.
I find winter rain much more dreary than snow.
Me too. I know I'm in SoCal now, but I think 30 years of New England gives me cred to say that I prefer snow to rain. Don't get me wrong--getting snowed and iced in can be miserable, and I
hate
subzero temps and don't miss them in the least. In terms of mental health, though, the rain and gray gets me much more than the cold and snow. (Lucky for me, LA doesn't get much of any of the above.)
That said, so sorry all of you are dealing with snowpocalypse. It's no fun to be cold and it's often not safe.
Also, Bonny, peace to you today.
While it's falling,
snow beats rain, hands-down. The next day? I'm not so sure. Especially when you don't get that post-storm sunniness.
Our predicted high today is 8 degrees.
Windchills in the negative doubledigits.
Not pleased.
The depressing thing about snow for me is the filthy snow after it has been plowed and refuses to melt and gathers in chunks of black-brown crusty lumps all over the place. It looks like all the sidewalks have a shiner. Gross. Ick. Hate.
We're getting some post-storm sunniness right now.

Unfortunately, it's 16F and windy, and I still have to dig my car out.
The temps dipped below freezing here in NC today. Sadly, my office turns the heat down over the weekend, so I'm sitting here wearing four layers while they try to up several thousand square feet of office space. Oh well. I'm only working two days this week, so I can suck it up for that long.

Oh Theo - that's going to be such a pain, you have my complete sympathy. Trying to remove the crap that's out there now is like chiseling stone.
