And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have eaten way too much junk today. Ugh.

At Grace's place, they served ham steaks without giving us knives.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

A possum, flea? How'd the cat feel about him?

I had bats living in my apartment building's roof. They may still be there, but they keep the mosquitoes down so I'm fine with it.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

We had chips and salsa for dinner. That is a mom fail. I also let amc open the gift from friends that came in the mail 2 days ago, he was TORTURED by a wrapped present just out in the open. TORTURED!

Speaking of gifts, we had a gift exchange at the work potluck, where everyone was supposed to bring a game/puzzle type gift. I thought it was going to be a Yankee swap, so I was a little bummed out when I picked crossword books. But no! We just got to keep our first pick! I totally won.

It was. We missed the tamales which made me feel extremely tragic.

Keys are off to Miss T. She was adorable, talking talking talking up a storm.

I know having her mom home after over 4 years is a strain; her mom said as much. (Her mom was in a nursing/physical rehab place after a bad accident.) And her mom appears to be overcompensating for the years in situ missed. I'm going to have to make sure she comes over at least once a week with the focus not being totally homework- she's processing. I'm not trying to take the place of her mom at all, just give her a place where she's not being aggressively parented (for the best, if not ideal, intentions) but mentored, I guess. She's a sharp kid, she rationally seems to get what is going on, but she's also heading into teenagedom. We had a neat discussion about being self-aware and how selfishness can change meaning as you get older.

Hell, I suspect she'll make me appreciate teenagers.
