Speaking of gifts, we had a gift exchange at the work potluck, where everyone was supposed to bring a game/puzzle type gift. I thought it was going to be a Yankee swap, so I was a little bummed out when I picked crossword books. But no! We just got to keep our first pick! I totally won.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
At Grace's place, they served ham steaks without giving us knives.
But was it nummy? I love that chef for his stuffing.

It was. We missed the tamales which made me feel extremely tragic.
Keys are off to Miss T. She was adorable, talking talking talking up a storm.
I know having her mom home after over 4 years is a strain; her mom said as much. (Her mom was in a nursing/physical rehab place after a bad accident.) And her mom appears to be overcompensating for the years in situ missed. I'm going to have to make sure she comes over at least once a week with the focus not being totally homework- she's processing. I'm not trying to take the place of her mom at all, just give her a place where she's not being aggressively parented (for the best, if not ideal, intentions) but mentored, I guess. She's a sharp kid, she rationally seems to get what is going on, but she's also heading into teenagedom. We had a neat discussion about being self-aware and how selfishness can change meaning as you get older.
Hell, I suspect she'll make me appreciate teenagers.

Does he know Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg?

Dude, does mac have books from Walter the Farting Dog series?
(I swear, I managed to corrupt my entire department. Everyone is buying them for either their kids or grandkids this year, based off my stories of how I warped D. Even my boss, for his grandsons.)
I think I taught him last year, but he has forgotten it. Now I can't even remmeber it...the batmobile has lost its wheel and joker got away?
Nope, he doesn't have them yet.
