Yeah, the Boston area is shut down, and now the weather report says not much will be happening until mid-afternoon. I guess the Commute From Hell last year put the Fear of Snow back into the authorities.
I fear if this turns out to be not much of a storm, that it will cause the authorities to underestimate the next one that comes along.
Somehow we are supposed to be missing this storm, but getting another on Sunday. I hope this is true, b/c I am supposed to fly home tomorrow.
It sort of cycles that way, doesn't it? And as they run out of snow day funds through the season, they get more cautious about when they declare a snow emergency, too.
But it strikes me that late Friday afternoon is the best time for an anticipated Snowpocalypse -- everyone is happy about leaving early, and they have all weekend to dig out the cars and sidewalks, get the power turned back on, not worry about the kids being without childcare, et cetera.
"A regular WW" my uncle would say.
It's supposed to be 70 degrees here today. And it is incredibly humid and foggy. So weird - it feels like March. Not Christmassy.
I am at mac's school for a presentation and he is denying to other students that I am his mom, then smiling and giggling at me. Hilarious.
Yeah, we're supposed to be pushing 80 today, but right now it's sixty and super foggy and I just can't see how that's going to happen.

hee! He obviously wants you to run up and give him lots of kisses and call him your Sweetiepie.
(My poor kid.)
It's rainy and yucky here, but not freezing, which is good. Yesterday, I told all the people I supervise that I didn't want to see them after lunch, and they should go do whatever shopping they'd planned for Saturday morning. Considering the Dean has already sent me 3 messages this morning, I may actually be working hard today.
I am skeptical about the prospect of snow here this afternoon -- I don't think it will be cold enough for proper snow, so I imagine we will have falling slush. I am already anticipating cancelling the plans I have tonight, even though I'd love to see the friend they are with -- the actual event doesn't sound that awesome, and it's in an inconvenient location, and I've had a very long week.
My browser weather widget says 1-3 inches of snow, then rain. Which means slush. Blargh.
Bacon and cheese roll.
I can't get that page to open, but it might be me, not them....
