I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It's like 15 degrees here. This is insane. How do people live like this?

I was halfway joking about hibernating, but it's looking better and better.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The woman who lives in one of the ground floor apartments came up to me while Dylan was playing with the mailboxes in the lobby today and informed me that if he cries too loud, he could have a stroke.

This woman HAS. NO. FILTER.

(Dylan was perfectly happy at the time she said this, btw. He does protest pretty loudly about getting into his stroller in the mornings, and I'm sorry it has to happen outside her door, but it's not like it's the middle of the night OR lasts longer than the 5 minutes it takes DH to get out the door.)

My temperature widget thinks it's 27 degrees here, but at least I can comfort myself with the idea that it's not SUPPOSED to be this cold here. It's RECORD BREAKING cold here (it was 19 degrees this morning. That was record breaking!)

My temperature widget thinks it's raining, and that it will snow tomorrow. I believe it to be wrong on both counts.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Sophia, if the blood thing comes up again at work, club soda works, or seltzer. So much easier to have casually on hand than peroxide, I think. I keep a sealed bottle in the car--change it out every few weeks. It works on wine and other stains too, if you get to it before they dry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The Facebook guy who wanted to see pictures of me after seeing pics of my calves and feet in heels has messaged me to remind me he's waiting.

Do people not realise they're creepy, or do they just not care?

Ah, well. Enough Netflix mainlining for the nonce. Off for groceries and prescriptions and maybe Zankou's.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I would just like to point out that there was (what looked like) OMGWTFSNOW in SF this morning. (It was actually hail residue, but still!)

Now tagless for your comfort.

I wish this woman knew that if she opens her mouth, someone may punch it, Jess.

The bread pudding with whiskey sauce I just made? AWESOME. Nom nom nom. It's still warm.

We're at -2 right now but it's supposed to be as low as -15 tonight.

My weather widget says it is 66.
