Played with Kaylee. Sun came out, and I walked on my feet and heard with my ears. I ate the bits, the bits stayed down, and I work. I function like I'm a girl. I hate it because I know it'll go away. The sun goes dark and chaos has come again. Bits. Fluids. What am I?!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Cashmere -- yeah, that show.

Saddest case maybe was the Las Vegas suntan salon owner who dropped out of rehab after like a month and subsequently died of a GI hemorrhage caused by alcohol. Some of these cases really are life or death....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is Intervention a cryfest? It looks that way from the ads.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Most of the crying is in the actual intervention, I think, which is really just the end of the show. Oh except for the moms who cry throughout. The rest of the show is a drug fest/trainwreck.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Depends on the family. Some people cry. Some don't. The addicts are pretty matter of fact about their problems. The interventionists are AWESOME. They are compassionate but they don't take any shit. They tell it like it is, offer the chance and act on it. If the addict says yes, they are on a plane within hours. I think they edit it pretty well, interspersing footage of the addict going about their daily routine with interviews of the family. Some of it is sad, but it's fascinating to watch.

The ads look awful. I don't think I could go near it.

Baking question--why does the recipe say 1 stick of butter (8oz) and my butter says 4oz/stick?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Your butter came from Mars?

By and large I don't find the show cry-making, but hopeful, and I think I've actually learned something about patterns of codependence from it. YCMMV

No! I need to know before I mess up these brownies. Also I probably shouldn't rest sticks of butter on the laptop.

But I guess I put in two of my sticks.........

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I'm pretty sure I couldn't handle watching Intervention, although I probably could use the information contained within. I have enough peripheral heartbreak, thankyewverymuch.

it, google random brownie recipes and go with the measurements that match the flour to butter ratio. Mine are also 4 oz sticks and they are standard-in-my-life sizes.
