I've heard the "global weirding", too, although I am not sure where. The winters in upstate NY aren't really milder, but they are at a different time that when I was young-- starting and ending later, with an extended fall and very truncated spring.
I am making socks for someone for a gift exchange tomorrow! I will be giving them one sock, and I feel like I have been knitting like crazy for the past week. I really thought I could finish in time. I id finish a scarf for someone else at the theatre, and I was working on another scarf that I scrapped. I need to get 2 more done for X-mas.
Global warming produces fucked up weather not necessarily just hot weather, no?
It is also a misnomer of sorts that leads to people wrongly inferring that it's just weather. It's also affecting ocean currents/temperature and we're already seeing massive effects. It's all related, and it's so much, much bigger than "weather".
I still remember that Christmas, before our festivities started, posting about the sick/withdrawing hookers on Cops...the timing made it sort of ugly on my part, but seriously? Are there men out there with that little humanity? And why can't we shoot them?
Because nobody's that nuts, to believe a shaking, feverish-appearing(ha...police report speak, I couldn't verify after all) woman with missing teeth to whom a man gave ten dollars is "exercising choice" Right?
Um, erika, did you see the story last week, I think it was, about the Massachussetts cop who not only didn't help a woman who was in labor, but wrote the couple a ticket for using the wrong lane and demanded to see her belly to prove she really was pregnant?
People, they unfortunately often SUCK.

It should be noted, that two previous cops had let the couple go by, so it's not all cops who are stupid. Just one out of three, evidently.

And the thing is, I expect it will continue to be unpleasant because there is very little chance of us meeting his expectations. Given all the shit that's been piled on us this year? 90% of the problems are due to Too Much Shit.
Things to be grateful for - among them, that I pre-scheduled a day off on the day we're having the office Christmas party. yay!
I had made an eye-doctor appointment for the 16th back before Thanksgiving, and we just got an invite this week for the department holiday party that same day starting at exactly the same time as my appointment.
Yay for me, too!
