Compassionately intolerant

I've got dinner with friends this evening. I'm picking up and sitting for our shih tzu friends for the next four days. They are the cutest, but a lot of work.

Then, finishing packaging a workshop program around which I have analysis paralysis.

Lots of laundry and dishes.

Last night, I went to an interesting lecture at the National Geographic about the archeological digs at Stonehenge. There is so much about that region I did not know. The talk was nice, the archeologist was one huge rumble and winningly witty but, oh lord, his voice as so calm and friendly that it served as a mass soporific. I could not stop yawning.

Still. Educational.

Aw, crap. Just remembered why I was going to bring something in -- to take it to my hairdresser as a Christmas present. Curses. Also, I like getting my hair done, but this is not the day I want to sit in a chair for an hour amusing myself. Want to SLEEP! Also, get home and see what FedEx brought!

How can a book called fat not have a section on vegtable oils - olive oil, sesame oil, palm oil, peanut oil. Not to mention nut butters which are mostly fats, Avocado, etc. Many many tasty fats not of animal origin.

“Not dead yet!”

This weekend... flag football practice tomorrow for Nate. Helping him with an English project. Working, for it is what I do. Watch football on Sunday.

Coding and Sleeping

This weekend is Christmas shopping, ornament making with the kids, removing all the boxes of books from the garage for the Church book sale (Yea!), and all the normal stuff (working out, cleaning, etc...).

This weekend we have to rake 10 zillion leaves, procure a Christmas tree, and then I work Sunday 1-10, Monday 1-10, and mr. flea leaves Tuesday AM and isn't back until Saturday so I am working a six-day week with two nights and solo parenting and why did you ask now I am depressed.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Exchange a birthday gift, go to Target for a new vacuum (finally decided I can't justify the cost of a new Roomba battery), very possibly look at refrigerators at Sears. Then spend Sunday weeping at how I will never be out of debt.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Saturday: Dropping off a check at the bank and then working a short shift at the bookstore, then when I get home, finish cleaning my apartment in preparation for Sunday's putting up of the Christmas tree and decorations, which will probably not get done until Monday night.

Oh, and I'm on track to finish Mom's Christmas present this weekend, too! (A cross-stitch of Santa with his book of names--I just have to finish backstitching his robe.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Saturday: cleaning and dejunking. Saturday night: Toys for Tots barbeque at a local bar. Sunday: cleaning and dejunking that I probably bailed on doing Saturday.
