Mal: Cut it out. Job's not done until we're back on Serenity. Zoe: Sorry, sir. Didn't mean to enjoy the moment.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Exchange a birthday gift, go to Target for a new vacuum (finally decided I can't justify the cost of a new Roomba battery), very possibly look at refrigerators at Sears. Then spend Sunday weeping at how I will never be out of debt.

Saturday: Dropping off a check at the bank and then working a short shift at the bookstore, then when I get home, finish cleaning my apartment in preparation for Sunday's putting up of the Christmas tree and decorations, which will probably not get done until Monday night.

Oh, and I'm on track to finish Mom's Christmas present this weekend, too! (A cross-stitch of Santa with his book of names--I just have to finish backstitching his robe.)

Saturday: cleaning and dejunking. Saturday night: Toys for Tots barbeque at a local bar. Sunday: cleaning and dejunking that I probably bailed on doing Saturday.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

ARGH. How do I not have any outfits appropriate for going to a cocktail-y christmas party?? I have several formal dresses. Long and gorgeous. But those are TOO formal. I have several work-wear dresses, which are not nice enough, not fun and December-y enough. Not enough bling. But I have nothing short or sparkly or anything. Not even separates. My wardrobe has CASUAL and it WORK and it has FORMAL and it has nothing in the middle. WTF, wardrobe? How have you failed me?? And how can I go find something perfect in the next THREE HOURS???

Damnit. Because of course, I had to actually do some work, this morning.

I might feel just a little pressure to look nice and Just Right at the girl's company Christmas party, for which I have NO IDEA how people are dressing. Because, of course, she first claimed it was "semi-casual" (which I told her was NOT A DRESS CODE!) and which she then claimed yesterday "Oh, by the way, a lot of people are like, dressing up for this". SIGH.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I'm having an unlucky week. I've wiped out on ice, gotten pulled into tons of last-minute meetings, had a project come back from the dead to haunt me all week, broken a glass I liked, had light bulbs pop the moment I turn on a light, scalded my hand on coffee, AND it's four frigging degrees outside right now.

I'm bruised, scratched, and randomly bleeding, and at this rate I'm worried that I'll need a crash helmet to get through the weekend.

information libertarian

Scoop-neck cashmere sweater, shortish straight skirt (wool or suit fabric), fun/sparkly/lace hose/tights, a little earring bling? You must have 3 out of 4 of those.

Pretty sure she needs something a little sturdier than that. Chain mail? Bubble suit?
